You'll still have Playstation membership for online play. But you will get some pretty sweet monthly free games, that Microsoft has yet to start matching. As of now the yearly Playstation Plus membership (equivalent of Xbox Live Gold) is $50/year now but could potentially be $60 within the next year.

For me, it's not the money that bugs me so much . .. although it does bug me when I don't enjoy the system.

I just want a system I can turn on and start playing games in the next couple of minutes. I think Xbox knows this and fucks with me every chance it gets. :)

And if they are going to have all these additional features and functions, make it easy to use . . . OK I'll stop now.

haha I read ya. Just wanted to make sure if you switch you werent hit with an unexpected cost :)

I think that is the same thing I'm talking about. They gave me a free month trial, so i figure it was a monthly fee basis. at this point they have my credit card info so I figure they were going to deduct from it each month . . . I guess they will just take their one big deduction each year. :)

I will say that I like buying the games on line and having them stored in the xbox. But I still use the word hate when talking about the xbox one. Not as much hate as a few weeks ago, but still hate.

Oh you can go to Gamestop, Best buy, Fred Meyer, Target ect. and buy XBox Live or PS+ memberships or points and that way you don't have to put your credit card info in the system. They give you a code to put in the system.

Get a PS4.

Yessir. Giant Bomb is a great one. Their sometimes 20 min rants on Bombcast usually have me literally lol'ing... which is kinda embarrassing when just walking down the street or on an elliptical at the gym.

It's very user friendly imo. I say Xbox on, it turns on my TV, cable box and xbox all at once and signs me in at the same time. I'm generally at the home screen within 10-15 seconds of when I say the command. the xbox one home page is very simple and very easy to get back into your games. That was more of a 360 issue. The home screen layout is:
xbox-one-ui-the-confusing-hideous-home-screen-1103351.jpg
Once there the big main box is whatever you were last doing and the 5 boxes below that are the last 5 games/apps/tv whatever you were using last basically. to the right is the store and to the left is your pins, where you can put anything you like. I have my game library there as well as a few commonly used apps but it is much quicker just to navigate with the kinect. As a UI device the kinect shines. It does a fantastic job of drowning out the noise from the TV and listening for commands, which was a major problem of the kinect on the 360.

Giant Bomb is great. Their podcast actually makes me look forward to the commute so I can listen some more lol

Xbox One is not user friendly. Had it for about a month now and get frustrated with it at least every other time I play it. Then there is the whole big brother watching as the system knows who is in the room and who has what controller. Additional monthly fees. I could go on and on.

A couple of features I like and the driving game is a blast . . . but would not buy it again if I do over.

what don't you like?

http://www.gamespot.com/articles/re...-100-million-units-each-by-2020/1100-6417687/
A new report from video game research firm DFC Intelligence forecasts Xbox One and PlayStation 4 sales to reach 100 million units each by 2020. If the systems do indeed perform that well, it would mark the first time in history two competing platform hit that milestone.

Price cuts were factored into the DFC Intelligence report, but these cuts are expected to happen "fairly slowly," DFC representative David Cold told GamesIndustry International. You should expect more bundles versus a simple price cut, Cole said.

Cole also said that DFC's 100 million milestone is actually a "conservative" estimate, based on the possibility of a newcomer system from Amazon, Apple, or even Nintendo disrupting the market. Amazon is reportedly readying a $300 system to launch this year, while Nintendo has already spoken about its next console.

Nintendo's Wii was the only console of the last generation to reach 100 million units sold. The Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 lagged behind at 80 million units sold worldwide to date.

The DFC Intelligence report also forecasts 2014 total game revenue to hit $77 billion (compared to $68 billion last year), while revenue by 2018 could be as high as $96 billion thanks to the "core gamer spending more than ever."

The report also suggests that the PS4 could "easily" become the "lead platform" for Western and Japanese developers and publishers. However, the report also points out that both Microsoft and Sony still have a "great deal of room for positioning."

The PS4 is out to an early sales lead over the Xbox One, with Sony's console selling 4.2 million units in 2013 compared to 3 million for Microsoft's new system. But don't read too far into the numbers, as they don't tell the whole story.

has PS4 released in Japan yet?

Not my experience at all. But you give me hope that I might master the thing . . . just last night I thought about playing but didn't want to hassle with it. I did finally have to stop inputting my password each time as it now recognizes me by video . . . so I'm getting there.

thanks. You have to think that would widen the gap a bit, being how they already have a stronghold on that territory. Although I'm not sure if Japan is more mobile (3ds) than console.

yea the ps4 will own Japan. Microsoft has no chance there

The South Park game looks really good, going to have to preorder it.

As for Titanfall, i just played several matches of the PC beta, and it isn't bad either. Playing as the Titans is great, but there are some hilarious bots in the matches that seem to serve no other purpose than to make bad players feel better about themselves because they aim about as well as Stormtroopers, lol. I think the same company that did the MGS HD Collection is doing the 360 version, so if you want to try it out Wheels, that version will probably not be horrible.

you meaning Titanfall?

My 360 has been in a box for over 6 moonths now lolz.

thanks for reminding me I need to beat MGS HD though!

Yes, although i don't think it's worth paying for Live. Unfortunately the gunplay is just COD with jet packs, i think that will keep me from buying it.

I think as people learn how to play it then more then some of the unique things titanfall offers will become part of the core gameplay more. there are some really cool things that can be done with the titans and the game definitely has more strategy then COD. I think the issue during the beta is everyone is so used to games like COD that they come into titanfall playing it the same way so it can give that feel.

people that say there isn't a clear leap from 360/ps3 to xbone/ps4 are crazy. That game looks gorgeous

you really notice it when playing Current Gen for a while and then go back. I was on a BF4 kick for a while then went back to beat the Infamous games (granted infamous 1 is a very early PS3 game) the characters are so jagged. You can really notice it when you go back.

On a related note.. I spent most of my 3 day weekend playing Bioshock on Survivor difficulty... eff that game. (No spoilers, I havent beaten any of them)

yea nba 2k14 from the 360 to the one is a pretty huge leap too
