I do like you crandc, and BlazerCaravan, but I also like the majority of people on this site, even those whom I often disagree with. the ones who argue just to argue and who never listen to responses bother me at times, and a couple of the most right wing thinking people get under my skin, but even them I usually calm down and end up laughing with.

But I do have one thing in common with you crandc, I don't even enter threads that are tea party types, that bash Obama (who I don't even like) in such a blind rage sort of way. If those threads go long, I may come and check them out, but I don't often open them otherwise.

I can only imagine if I used the Ignore function. I would lose the privilege of knowing the thoughts of the 5 on the board who say U.S. torture is fine with them, the 10 who want criminals to rot, be raped, throw away the key, etc., the 10 who love to kill hundreds of thousands of people per war as long as they're foreigners, and the humorless ever-negative jihadist manhater who, while defining herself purely in terms of sex, has never said one pro-sex thing in her message board history.

There are so many humans with major moral faults that it's easier to engage them than ignore them. There was a time when demonstrators for love filled the streets and panicked those in power. I will carry that on even if I become alone.

In general that's fine, but there's a a pretty heavy skew in this forum in one direction, so it's likely we'd see a lot of one kind of post shot down. Good if you're in the majority, though.

I just wish you could ignore Commissioners and lower in the admin totem pole. Make Denny unignorable, fine, because he's the boss... but there's like three dozen mods or higher on this forum!

I think I ignored PapaG for awhile because he was arguing just to argue in endless posts; but I've seen some good basketball stats from him in more recent times. So now I don't have anyone on ignore.

Now I just skim through the posts I don't want to read. Most of us are making the same exact damn arguments with each other over and over just in a different thread on a new day. Eventually I wonder if I'll be smart enough to realize we won't convince each other of anything new. Hmmm probably not I'm a slow learner.

Another good feature would be to hide posts from any poster who posts more than 20 times a day. Or posters with an average post length of 6 words. Not any insight there.
