who is your favorite End of the Bench Blazer ever?

I loved Patty Mills. I hate McMillan even more for his misuse of Patty.

Sergei Monya - the third ex-Blazer SF playing in Eurobasket in a few days.
I always thought of Monia as a 2, while Khryapa was the 3. But that takes me back! "No Viktor... No Viktoreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee"

"Fun little tangent: Ha Seung-Jin and Slavko Vranes were both on the Jail Blazers in their heydays, and at one point got into a confrontation that culminated in Seung-Jin chasing Slavko around the facility with a stick. Ha got the last laugh with more playing time. I'm glad those days of the Blazers are over."
Huh! Totally mis-remembered the details! I thought Ha went after a rotation player. Either way, Ha remains my favorite end-of-bench Blazer.

Somewhere on the old forum is an image of Ha versus Vranes ala Soul Caliber/Tekken.

Vlad Stepania, John Crotty, Veeektor Claver, Veeektor Khryapa, among others...

Patty Mills. My best friend keeps a mental note of players we have gave up on and then brings it up during a game. Thanks, bro!

Drazen Petrovic. Great shooter.
Mark Bryant. He was tough and you could depend on him for some hard fouls!

They were end of bench players? Not that I remember. Bryant was Ducks backup and Drazen was dubbed as a potential future star who got lots of minutes I thought?

Drazen was 9th in minutes played during his first season with the Blazers, and 13th during his partial second season before he was traded to the Nets.

Bryant's first 5 seasons with the Blazers:
1st season: 10th in minutes played
2nd season: 10th in minutes played
3rd season: 9th in minutes played
4th season: 10th in minutes played
5th season: 9th in minutes played

Man. Just seemed like they had bigger impacts than those minutes would equate to. I remember loving have Bryant come in.

Several big men received more playing time than Bryant during his tenure with the Blazers, such as:
Wayne Cooper
Cliff Robinson
Caldwell Jones
Richard Anderson
Steve Johnson
Alaa Abdelnaby

Abdelnaby did too? Man my memory fails me. Too many bong hits...

I could have sworn Bryant played way more than Ala
Cliff ended up being a starter.

Exactly! That's why they are my favorite end of the bench players. Drazen had so much potential, but needed time to play. And that wasn't going to happen with Clyde entrenched as the starter. Bryant was simply our Blue Collar player. I remember him going into games and fouling guys pretty hard. He made opposing players earn their points in the paint the hard way!

Yeah, Alaa was a bit surprising to me as well. He just barely received more time than Bryant during one season.

My recollection...and I believe he admitted it in later years...is that Alaa was more interested in hitting the bong than hitting baskets. He definitely was an underachiever.
