I don't have one favorite, but in no order:

DJ Premier
Dr. Dre
DJ U-Neek
DJ Yella
Eric B
RZA
Havoc
DJ Green Lantern

DJ Premier, 9th Wonder, J-Dilla, Dr. Dre, Diamond D, Pete Rock

Timbaland - I didn't really like him before but I like some of his newer beats.

Just Blaze

Rockwilder

Neptunes

DJ Premier

Dr.Dre

Stoupe is an amazing producer as well.

Kanye West (love his samples)

There's a bunch of producers on soundclick.com who are just as good as some of the actual hip-hop producers.

Just Blaze makes the same **** over and over and over again. Dude is way too repetitive. I'm getting tired of Kanye as he is biting Premo and Dilla heavily. Dilla was on Daft Punk long ago, and Kanye is just doing his thing now. Plus, Common said his new album has the Dilla feel. Either way, Stronger is the fucking joint, but still.

lol if you think those guys all suck you obviously hate hip-hop....

DREAM:
no love for my man Alchemist or DJ Quick????

Alchemist's beats are kind of ugly sounding to me
DJ Quik is good

how about Daz Dillinger - his beats are great

yeah "dat ***** daz" is the dude

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Alchemist's beats are kind of ugly sounding to me</div>

well they're grimey (and I like that) but he's produced some beauties also.......We Gon Make It is a great club song and it has a feel good vibe to it..

Forgot all about Alc...he is definitely one of my favorites.

Green Lantern is far from horrible IMO. He's making some hot beats right now for his newly signed artist Uncle Murda. He's also made some good beats with Ghostface Killah, Eminem, Beanie Seagel etc.

DJ Quik is good. I like some of Jazze Pha's beats as well. U Can Call and Fair Xchange had a nice touch to them. Johnny J's beats for 2Pac were pretty nice as well.

I think Eminem is a pretty ****** producer. Some of the **** on Loyal To The Game was just plain horrible (i.e- Thug For Life).

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">lol if you think those guys all suck you obviously hate hip-hop....</div>
And, you're obviously an idiot.

No, YOU are mate. You come on to basketball boards, never post anything basketball related, just ponce around with your pseudo-intellectual music snobbery........ Maybe you should take your music ideas to a music site? You'd probably have your ass handed to you.
anyone who says all these guys are horrible either doesn't understand music production, hates hiphop or just goes out of his way to be different cause he has issues:

Just Blaze
Rockwilder
Timbaland
Neptunes
Kanye West
DJ Green Lantern

4 people on this list are among the most influential hiphop producers of all time, yet in your opinion, they're horrible. lmao.

OMG differing opinions! Like, he must be stupid and hate hip-hop. Like, he must not know what is good because his opinion differs from the status quo.

Influential hip hop producers? Where have they broken boundaries and caused a shift in the way hip-hop is produced and listened to? Do you know the definition of influence?

BTW, I do post at a music site, and that's where I get most of my information from about music. There's a whole world of music aside from your favorite DJ's track on MTV/BET. The world is full of music, and the world is full of producers that have transcended what those guys make you think is influential and new and exciting. It's just not known, because the music business is scared of change, and quite frankly consumers like yourself are scared of it too.

How do I not understand music production? Because I find these guys repetitive and unimaginative? How is Kanye for example any better or more influential than say J Dilla. J Dilla was ahead of his time, and while he was sampling Daft Punk years ago and creating his style years ago, Kanye West is coming around just now and copying everything this man has done. He's ripping off DJ Premier left and right as well.

I'd be glad to share with you the other perspective of music if you're willing to be open-minded about it and not slam me because of my different views. Your call.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">I like some of Jazze Pha's beats as well</div>

yuck, lol....Jazze Fat has made a couple of beats that I've enjoyed.

I think those guys you named are talented, but I wouldn't say that any of them are among the most influential of all time.
