Who the hell is Ed Davis?!?! (1 Viewer)

Some of you have been asking for a PF who is not soft, plays D, rebounds, blocks shots, and grabs rebounds. That is who Ed Davis is. Between he and Plumlee (and hopefully Vonleh) our bigs are starting to look like that prototype you wanted.

What we are still missing is a SF who can score at will..............But really if Leonard continues to improve, and CJ and Dame stay healthy, we still are in the same boat we were with LMA. And that is a star-wing player i.e Kahwi.

Harris would be nice, but more than likely we will have to wait for someone else next year. But we are adding some athletic bigs who can rebound and play D, even if they are not stars.

Hustle and Scrap Baby!

Dude is a 50% freethrow shooter . . .

Wow we have think about going after ex lakers or what...Kaman, Blake, now Davis....who we gonna get next Lin

I'm Ed Davis, I'm Ed Davis, I'm Ed Davis, I'm Ed Davis, I'm Ed Davis, I'm Ed Davis

I like the signing too. The starting unit outside of Lillard is going to be a crapshoot.

Clearly the Blazers are starting over.

The good news is they are doing a damn good job of it.

Success depends on expectations and the lens one is looking through.

The rebuild is starting off great.

Watched some youtube of him. I thought he was amazing until I saw a free throw. Still like his game, blocking dunks and dunking on people.

I really do dislike bad free throw shooters. Plumlee is pretty bad too iirc.

Wheres the old poster raptors fan master shake? He used to say all the time ed Davis was better than lma.

25 years old. 20 PER last year. Plays exclusively down low. Shot 60% from the field last year. Good rebounder. Better defensively than offensively.

IMO--perfect fit with Leonard.
+> Plumlee fences himself down low in the paint too. Maybe we can be a Defensive team?. All we need is a coach who wants that as a primary game plan.

He calls himself a hustle player but I don't really recall him playing like that in Toronto--granted I didn't see a lot of him in Memphis or LA afterward. He's the kind of player that generally does good things on the court but never blows you away. If you look at his rookie season vs. last season you'll see his numbers are more or less the same. I guess he's kind of an average player and that's why LA didn't make it a priority to keep him. I don't know if you have him penciled in as a starter but I reckon you will get a lot more out of him if he does start. I mean he doesn't come off the bench and ignite a game. In terms of him being very good defensively I don't actually think he's very good at anything in particular, just average to good, but a jack of all trades could be preferred to a master of one.

Short answer our starting power forward.

I would much rather us establish being a top defensive team first. Defense is all about timing and teamwork. If we can zero in on being good defensively, that means our chemistry is really coming around.
