Not what you HOPE will happen before next season starts, but what you believe will happen.

Also known as: the basis for all religions.I irrationally still think CJ will be traded. If I don't believe that, I might just get really depressed.![]()

I assume you mean traded before the start of next season.
This is flogging a dead horse, but Powell just DOESN'T do what CJ does (or vice versa, of course). Powell's handle is shaky at best, while CJ has one of the craftiest handles in the league. CJ can fill in at PG in a pinch (and has), whereas there is no way in hell Powell could do that. Powell is a small forward in a PG's body.CJ is duplication and not as capable at what we need to improve on as Powell is.
We'd be crazy to choose CJ over Powell. We need to trade CJ for the best wing talent we can get in return.
But think about it: neither of them is going to play, but you can feel better about not playing Aminu than not playing DJJ! And not having DJJ means you HAVE to give minutes to Nas/Elleby.
But think about it:
Wow, that's one way to leave your mind blank for the duration. No, I don't want to think about moves that do nothing to get us closer to a championship.
CJ can't guard his position. CJ is duplication of Dame where he's not duplication of Powell. This is flogging a dead horse, but Powell just DOESN'T do what CJ does (or vice versa, of course). RoCo and the Zach Collins QO are the only assets the Blazers have other than CJ.
Nurkic is underpaid so trading him at his contract would be a negative.
Then all this bullshit about wanting to win is just that….. bullshit. What if Dame doesn't want him traded? Most Superstars have say in who comes, and goes now days.
I'd tell Dame we are improving the team, and its the NBA, players get traded. If you went to him however and said we traded CJ for a mediocre player and a future, he probably would be disappointed. Then I'd tell him, please know we want you here as long as you want to be. I don't think Dame hold's grudges.
