Not looking at who we trade, but who we get. Who do you think would be the best player for us?

Andre Miller or Steve Nash. A great vet point guard that can set up an offense for a 3 year immediate run with the hopes of having one of our young PGs take over when they get too old.

Well, Caron Butler would be great. Assuming he's unavailable, Luol Deng or Gerald Wallace would be great.

If not them, Vince Carter.

If not him, wait for the off-season, convince Childress to play for Portland and trade Atlanta for his rights (which should be relatively inexpensive, since he refuses to play for them...second-round pick or two, maybe).

LeBron James, of course.
If he's not available, then I'd settle for Caron or Gerald Wallace.

barfo

J-Smoooooooooooove. Gerald Wallace.

caron butler, tayshaun prince, gerald wallace. any of those would be good. if none of them can be acquired, i love the idea of getting childress in the summer.

i'm not high at all on any of the pgs that portland could reasonably acquire(i absolutely don't understand the love for andre miller that some people have).

In order: (and using only RLEC, Outlaw, Sergio, Blake, Frye, Diogu)

1. LBJ
1a. Rose
1b.Hinrich and Deng. (defensive PG and all-around SF)
2. Nash and Wallace. (wizard PG with defensive SF)
3. Nash and Butler (wizard PG and scoring SF)
4. Josh Smith and Marvin Williams
5. Sessions and Jefferson (young, good PG and decent SF)
6.. Arenas/Butler
7. Butler
8, Hinrich
9. Wallace
10. Prince
11. Stephen Jackson/Turiaf (hard-nosed, good shooting defensive SF and banger backup PF)
12. Shaq
412. Jerome James
413. Marbury
414. K*be
415. Amare

I have to think more...I'll probably edit this.

The poll is a realistic look at the current names out there. LBJ, Kobe, etc - unrealistic.

I voted for Gerald Wallace. Looking long term, a starting five of Bayless, Roy, Wallace, LMA, and Greg looks like a championship contender to me. Wallace adds a defensive stopper, and a shooter, and toughness.

as bad as we have been on D lately, the idea of adding a defender as good as prince sounds too good to pass up to me. high basketball IQ, too. he would help this team in so many areas...

If you read this KP, I know it would be tough, but somehow package:
Raef (RLEC), Travis, Sergio, Blake, Frye, + multiple future 1st round picks, + cash for
DANNY GRANGER

If anyone can get this done its KP. Get er done!

No one can get that done. Outlaw + picks + all of Portland's garbage doesn't come anywhere close to equalling a young All-Star with more upside. Indiana would at least want one of the Big Three and you're not even willing to include any of Portland's good prospects.

As for the poll, I picked Wallace as the best compromise of ability and realism. I like Butler even more, but don't think he's realistic.

i voted for prince. he'd be the perfect guy at small forward for the blazers. good defender, solid shooter, no injury problems, not too old, has a lot of experience playing as a 4th option(and doing so well), and would be a perfect mentor for batum. throw in that he could also come with a decent backup pf(like maxiell) and that's even better.

Was finally in contact with a scout whom I've known since HS (89'). Anyway, he told me that Portland has been talking with SA about Ime Udoka. Thinks that PDX will get Udoka.

On the PG front, KP wants Bibby BADLY . ATL is not interested so far because they think they can make a deep playoff run and Bibby is really carrying the team. They also want to hopefully sign him on the cheap considering they are playing so well and Bibby is happy.

Prince is also a name he is hearing. Not sure what Detroit wants, so we'll see.

He broke it down like this
PG- Bibby for Blake and RLEC is first option
Andre Miller for Sergio and wasn't sure what else Philly wants .
Hinrich for RLEC, Sergio, also thought a third team involved.

SF- Udoka first option. Spurs want Frye, but I doubt KP gives up Frye straight across. Kurt Thomas, Udoka for Ike, Frye. Thinks this was the small deal Quick was talking about as being "Minor"

Prince second option. Might take Trout and Byless. Once again said a third team involved that wants Bayless. In turn they would send player to Detroit.

One last thing, said Blazers are shopping the rights to Petteri K. A lot of teams interested especially Wiz, go figure.

If I get more I'll pass it along.

Go Ducks

C'Mon Bryce, BE A DUCK.

I doubt he'd want Udoka, and I doubt he'd be unwilling to give Frye straight across.

Basically, I doubt.

Typical Blazer fan pipe-dreamin'

Nice list. You have Nash and Wallace, and then Nash and Butler, and Shaq a little later, how about Nash and Shaq? Where would you have them?

Gerald Wallace would be the best fit on this team IMO.

I voted Butler, but he and Prince are pretty much long shots.

I were voting for the one I'd think we realistically could land, it would be RJeff.

Just say no Vince or Amare.

Granger and Devin Harris are my 2 favorites not counting LBJ, CP3 and D-Will.

For Nash and Shaq, it would blow about 32M in salary. It seems tough for us to get that with just the parts I'd want to trade.

In a perfect world, we'd get a short-term 1 and a longer-term 3. We'd get a backup PF banger guy. But if it was something relatively minor I'd like Shaq as our 3rd big.

Another vote for Prince. He would help the team now, and be a part of playoff runs in 3 years.

I think G. Wallace is at the top of my list. He brings so much without running a single play for him.
