....evidently someone had a problem with the wording/construction of the other poll, so we'll try it this way;

I'm not here to say Billy Beane is a BAD GM.

I guess I could live with him GMing the Yanks.
Okay?

...so wtf have you been arguing about?

I for one would do back flips to see Beane replace Cashman......

But like I mentioned in another post, the A's Owner ship wouldn't fire Beane if he traded the entire Team for the Mona Lisa, which is probably worth more, than His line up.....

Tho' he seems untouchable, I wonder often, what goes thru Billy's mind, albeit give a deep pocket budget, the Yanx provide, much like the Bums endlessly deep pockets, ala Guggenheim's huge net worth.....

I can't help but think by now, Beane has got to soon, want a new challenge, and I can only imagine Billy is the one GM who could bring back a Yanx Dynasty for a generation to come......

Not convinced Beane could perform in NYY organization. He passed on the Sox, and they were all in with the Bill James plan.

Yep, I knew as much, but what intrigues me is: what is Theo Epstein literally doing in Chi-town, with all those SABR metrics, or was Bill James presence in Boston, what got Epstein his Series Ring????

I'm still patiently awaiting Epstein's Money Ball moves, which so far escape my vision.....or does anyone know something happening in Chicago, which Epstein can utilize to bring those Cubs out of the Cellar.....so far I don't see the Red Sox moves in Cubs land.....or am I blind and/or mis-informed?????

I'd bet as much it was James not Epstein, who put that Team together......

I'm still puzzled how Cashman got the job to begin with. I mean wasn't he only about 27-28 when he got it. What the hell kind of qualifications could he have had at that age. Sounds a bit like, "Someone was sleeping with someone".

...I understand your point but I'm sure you realize my point in creating the poll.

agree

I am also not ready to do hand stands over the thought of Beane being available for a potential Yankee GM job.

...lol...how well has Cashman "performed"?...and availability is not the topic.

crapshoot, just like bringing in big name players to NY, in all major sports, how many big names have succeeded here, betcha there r more failures ...

...sorry, but no...I don't think I will, and certainly not just because you said to.

Good pointers Rick and Tom....

Tho', I'm simply answering to the OP, with no other details, other than that one simple Question, ie, the OP, period...without the bells and whistles, frills or thrills.....

simply put, I'd much rather have Beane any day, any year, any time....

IMO, Beane has a wit, 2nd to none, whereas Cashman, has a wit with a blank check book....

1 is a Maverick, the other a Mule...

Regardless.....of anything less than 1 GM's ability to obtain a player for 1 buck$$$, the other incapable of landing top caliber talent; and/or taking two ball players who each hit 20 HR's, in lieu of one who hits 35...

No doubt, Beane gets more Bang for His Buck$$$

the other gets Bucks$$$ for his lack of bang....
