Who would you take with the #2 pick?

It's funny: back when I posted this, Kidd-Gilchrist was the easy favorite, and I wanted Robinson (and was worried about MKG's lack of definable skills). But now I've thought about it, I'm tending towards Kidd-Gilchrist. I was a little surprised when Robinson's own coach compared him with Millsap. Now, Millsap is a good player, but he doesn't play much D, and I'm seeing that that might be a weakness for Robinson. Meanwhile, I just read an interview with Batum at the Eurocamp where he bemoaned the loss of first Roy and then Camby as "the voice of the locker room". That's what Kidd-Gilchrist is supposed to bring. People compare him with Gerald Wallace, but Gerald Wallace was always quiet, never a leader. We need a leader. So I change my vote: if we really do trade up, even to #2, I hope it's for MKG. And may God have mercy on my soul.

(And hope that Joel Freeland makes up a bit for not getting Robinson, who will almost inevitably be ROY.)

I think that is my current dream situation. Get MKG with pick 2 or 3, and then get Marshall or bring in someone to push the break.

I would soooooo love to see a lineup of Batum, MKG, Aldridge at the 2-4 positions. Add in Marshall, or another good (non-cupcake-loving) passing PG and that team would be a lot of fun to watch.

A 19 year old rookie will not be a leader on this team.

Who creates any offense on that team? They would be really good defensively and on the break on offense but wold really struggle in the half court offense.

Yeah, that is my concern, and I like MKG, I think he was the engine that made that UK team go....but boy, unless POR took a pure scorer at #11 or got one if FA (are there any outside of streaky OJ Mayo?) this next year could be even rougher scoring wise than last year...
