NBA playoffs: Cavaliers make history

It was a 25-point halftime deficit this time, not a 3-1 deficit in the NBA Finals, but the Cleveland Cavaliers made NBA history again.

LeBron James increased his streak to 20 consecutive first-round wins. And, by the way, he also passed Kobe Bryant for third all-time in postseason scoring. Even crazier? The Cavs completed the comeback with Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love on the bench.

#MVP

It's between LeBron and Kawhi, and it's actually a difficult decision for me.

Leonard is only 25. If you put him on our team that would make an insane nucleus with Dame/CJ/Kawhi/Nurk.

But LeBron is LeBron..... so do you take a few years of LeBron or maybe 10 years of Kawhi?

Pretty easy answer
Should be, but I struggled with it anyway. There's something about Kawhi's quiet excellence that appeals to me, as well as his superior 3-point shooting. But Lebron does everything else, and he's so physically imposing. However, we've also seen a younger version of Kawhi outplay a more physically imposing version of Lebron just 3 years ago.

In a vacuum, if you want to start a team from scratch for one season, or one series, Lebron is the obvious choice. But in terms of "whom would you rather (hypothetically) add to the Blazers", I'd actually go with Kawhi. And then I'd convince him to wear #11 so all those Meyers fans' jerseys could be usable again.

I think Kawhi would accept his role on our team, no problem. I think it would be an easy transition. I'm not sure about LeBron.

Yeah, Dame and Lebron are both major alphas. I'm not sure how well they would coexist.

LeBron and Wade are alphas, and they coexisted...... but they are also friends, so I'm not sure if that counts. I'm not sure if I would call Kyrie an alpha..... what do you think?

He's certainly not the alpha on that team.

I would still rather have Kawhi, I think.....
Giannis is a better rebounder, play maker, shot blocker, and is three years younger. Kawhi is the better shooter for now but they mostly even out when you consider TS%. Dude put up a 23/9/5/2/2 at age 22.

If this is to win a single game now, I'm taking Lebron and it isn't close. But for any other question, it's Giannis all the way.

Understand that everything in this post is pure speculation:

I never got the same vibe from Wade that I have from Dame. It didn't take too terribly long for Wade to step back and that Heat team to become unquestionably Lebron's squad. I don't know if Dame has it in him. Even when Dame tried to claim this was still Aldridge's team back in 2013-14, everyone knew that Dame was the lead dog. I think that's why even though CJ has become a more efficient scorer, Dame still seems reluctant to let him have the ball in clutch situations.

Are we talking about for just this year and next or for the next 5 years? The answer to that is crucial in picking the player.

Right now? Easy. It's LeBron. He's the greatest player in the game and arguably a Top 3 player of all-time.

Future? For this team? It's pretty easy that it's Kawhi.

Easy. Kawhi. He isn't an aging, whiny, crab-dribbling diva.

My answer as well. He's too young and talented.

If I had to choose from the options and this is for all seasons going forward, I'd choose Kawhi Leonard. I think James will be great for another few years. I think Leonard will be great for another 10 years.

You have to choose LeBron, though, if it's just for next season or just for a playoff run.

LeBron. (especially if he is going to go off like last night -- that was pretty spectacular)

Yea the purpose of my question was right now for this year, alluding to the fact that Lebron should be MVP. Agree that if the future is considered Kawhi is the answer.

Lebron is still hands down the best player in the game and he makes everyone on his team better. Its Lebron and I dont' think its a close discussion.
