Beyond our game with Phoenix, who are you hoping to win tonight between OKC and the Spurs?

1 team directly above us in the standings...
1 team directly below us in the standings...

Give the Spurs their 2nd loss? Or keep OKC from catching up to us? Which way do you lean?

I'm rooting for an asteroid the size of a small pick-up truck.

I dislike OKC, I like the Spurs. If the Blazers need another team being pushed around in the standings, they have problems.

I'm glad one of them will lose. If I had to choose, I root for OKC. I want the best record in the West for at least a day. Plus, Nik, we're getting close to that 20 game mark where you said you'd pass judgement on the team.

I want OKC to lose. I want to win the division. We have opportunity to catch up to the spurs later.

I root for the Blazers, not other teams to lose. Take care of your own

I can't really root for OKC, and I have no animosity for the Spurs.

You seem to imply that I'm dreading having to adjust my expectations upward? I said if they went 7-3 starting with the Milwaukee game I'd finally believe they are good team. It looks like they have a great shot at that, but more than the record since Milwaukee, I'm impressed with the way they play and how they've competed.

So if it assuages your angst I'll save you some time - they're good now. If they can beat (or at least truly compete) with OKC and Indiana they might even be great.

Sweet. No, I wasn't implying it. Sorry for the miscommunication.

I do not root for the Zombie Sonics. Clay Bennet can suck it.

I will root for SA as well. I think the odds of winning the division is slightly better than beating SA. Plus I hate OKC more.

Either one is a long shot, and it won't matter unless we continue to get better. But it is more fun to have a rooting interest in each game I watch. So if I had to pick......SA

From reading his posts, I believe Eric has ABSOLUTELY nothing against sausages

Yep! I want nothing more than to beat them in this division!

Go, catastrophic sewage backup in the players' parking garage!

FWIW:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NBA_playoffs

The NBA announced the current revised playoff seeding system on August 3, 2006. Following the NBA regular season, eight teams in each conference qualify for the playoffs and are seeded one to eight.
The team that has the best record in each of the three divisions in each conference is declared division champion. The three division champions, and another team in the conference with the best record, are seeded one through four by their records. This guarantees the division champions no worse than the fourth seed, and also guarantees the conference's two best teams (by record) will be the top two seeds even if the second-best team doesn't win its division. Of the remaining eleven conference teams, the four with the best records are seeded fifth through eighth based on their record.
In the event two or more teams are tied in the standings, a series of tiebreakers are applied to determine which team receives the higher seeding.

Two-team tiebreaker:
Division winner (this criterion is applied regardless of whether the tied teams are in the same division)
Better record in head-to-head games
Higher winning percentage within division (if teams are in the same division)
Higher winning percentage in conference games
Higher winning percentage against playoff teams in own conference (including tied teams)
Higher winning percentage against playoff teams in opposite conference (including tied teams)

Three-team tiebreaker:
Division winner (this criterion is applied regardless of whether the tied teams are in the same division)
Best head-to-head winning percentage among all teams tied
Highest winning percentage within division (if all tied teams are in the same division)
Highest winning percentage in conference games
Highest winning percentage against playoff teams in own conference (including tied teams)
Highest point differential between points scored and points allowed

Well first step is winning the division. Step 2 is passing first round, step 3 is winning round 2, then Wcf, then finals, then champs!

Just sticking with the everyone takes everything literally theme going on here lately. Thus, you don't want them to EVER win a title. :)
