I had to edit my long post because I forgot to add your (post's) when I wrote it.

I don't want to talk about @dviss1 behind his back (he hates that) but I want to use it as an example. Dviss loves his kid more than life itself. That's obvious to anyone who reads his posts.

If dviss and I were in a tussle (often stirred up by me) and he used one of those "your post is a $$@€#" or whatever...

And I being the asshole I am KNOW how much he loves his son that he'd push me off a cliff to save him from a sprained ankle......I said "I hope your son (has something bad happen to him)"

I don't even want to say any specific thing because I don't want to speak it into the universe (never wish any ill will on a kid)


I'm really going out on a limb here with Dviss because I know how sensitive he is about this and I admire that. No disrespect intended it is purely hypothetical.

What I'm trying to say is that I could bait just about anyone and still follow the rules and it is just stupid.

You would moderate things in the exact same way. All you would do is remove the ones where someone remembered to phrase it the way that skirts the rules. This ain't jeopardy and Alex Trebek ain't around.

I'm talking about stuff like "your post is an illiterate moron" NOT "That's the dumbest thing I've ever read"

I guess that is still a gray area but it should be pretty obvious.

@dviss1 he makes an excellent point. It would make the forum more enjoyable for everyone, even the arguments, if you didn't do that anymore.

I'm not singling him out. He's just the most obvious one to use as an example. Because he puts his life on here for all to see. I know really personal things about him. (Not something I advise by the way)

HCP could have been the example...

I didn't complain about it. Read the threads. On one hand sly says trolling is allowed. Then today cc says he deletes baiting posts. Then he responds to your baiting post but doesn't delete it.

This ain't about you.
 
So I went to the beach Sunday and Money.

Holy hell, it was 60 degrees, sunny and no wind. Just gorgeous the entire time we were there. For the Oregon coast that would have been a fantastic day for June or July but the middle of November?!? Completely mind blowing.

I'll try and make this as clear as I can.

I'm for NO rules beyond people breaking laws. Real threats are illegal in the real world.

But....that isn't going to happen.

What is happening In.My.Opinion. is that with vague insult rules with loopholes and now this "baiting" I read about today people with unconscious bias towards friends that hold similar political beliefs are likely to favor that poster.

I swear to God right now if you're reading that other thread and threaten me in any way I do NOT want you banned...

Long story short I think the rules are stupid.

Because my .40 cent bet won me $800.

So cute. My wife has watched a couple of netflix shows called Dogs or something. She showed me the end of the second episode. No spoilers if you wanted to watch it but I love seeing dogs that missed their owners. You know those people are good to their dogs.

Sly, first of all, I didn't invent that shit. EVERYONE has done it. Acting like I'm even the main perpetrator of that skirting of the rules and that only I need to change in that area so we could "make the forum more enjoyable" is some bullshit. The MF complaining about it now (when it hasn't happened for months) has even done it before.... :dry:

Second, when's the last time you've seen me do it? You're a mod, I'm sure you can find the date when that happened. I'd wager to say it's been upwards of 4+ months.

Third, nothing I've posted on these threads has been against forum rules.

MFs in here on their crusade again... You know it.

They actively try to bait me all the time then feign outrage and now they're bringing up something that hasn't happened since I put cippy on ignore.

I haven't don't SHIT that needs editing or deleting.

Why don't you talk to him about ACTIVELY baiting me? I

Because that would make the forum more enjoyable...

Yes, trolling is allowed. I'm pretty damn good at it and enjoy it.

I also think baiting can be allowed.

If you're doing it to have fun then I'm not seeing a problem with it.

If you're doing it to piss someone off or to be a dick depending on the severity then a mod may step in. There are times when it's best to be more of a fireman than a cop. To put it out before it fires up. Primarily because I get tired of bouncing into a thread and reading post after post of two people teeing off on each other. And no matter what I do, which posts I delete or don't delete, someone is going to be upset and complain.

Me changing news article titles from Trump to Hillary is trolling, HCP posting a blurry picture and saying it's Melo is trolling. But they're not mean spirited and are meant to just have some fun. Other posts that are considered trolling or baiting can be very mean and for the sake of a healthy community every once in a while they get removed.
