OT Why Never Trumpers Should Bet on DeSantis Now

I don’t know what this means really. What would be your definition of a conservative? I generally take issue with any mainstream democrat-republican comparisons because I find them to be nothing more than a distraction. It’s much more clear for me to parse between establishment or non-establishment politicians based on career history and voting history. I realize this forum is extremely mainstream friendly and I never expect wild ideas like that to make sense or track here but it’s generally my lens for viewing political ideas and actors. It seems many mainstream voters become extremely agitated and even perhaps scared when the sanctity of the two party paradigm is called into question. Must be a boomer comfort thing. They would almost rather watch the world explode and the younger generations OD or live in shipping crates than be even mildly inconvenienced by change.

Florida allows permitless carry. No safety training needed. Because freedom.

Then spent $16 million in taxpayers' money for bulletproof glass in governor's residence.

Neo-Nazis March Through Florida Park

A large group of neo-Nazis wearing red and waving flags with swastikas marched through Cranes Roost Park in Altamonte Springs, Florida, on Saturday shouting “we are everywhere,” according to a video shared by a state lawmaker. Carlos Guillermo Smith, a former member of the Florida House of Representatives, said in a tweet that the demonstrators were raising “Heil Hitler” salutes. State Rep. Anna V. Eskamani cited the incident as an “absolutely disgusting … example of the far right extremism growing in FL.” “Florida is our home and I refuse to hand it over to extremists. We have to stand united against antisemitism, anti-Blackness, and anti-LGBTQ bigotry in order to take our state back,” Guillermo Smith said. In anticipation for Labor Day, the Anti-Defamation League’s (ADL) Center on Extremism issued a statement on Friday warning that two extremist groups—known as the Goyim Defense League and Blood Tribe— were “planning to gather in Florida in September 2023 for a joint, public demonstration(s) they are calling the ‘March of the Redshirts.’” The ADL said the groups would likely march in “high visibility locations” to “attract as much public and media attention as possible.”

He won't get into office. The stinking chaotic Republican party has their own select cult members. If anyone should be selected, Christie has experiences and the muster to take to the Insurrectionist. At least he is a Republican.

Meanwhile, those that Don't fit the DeSantis party line are treated like lepers.

I wonder why these neo-nazi's wear masks?....hmmm, "I'll take because they're cowards, for $1000, Alex."

ANTIFA no doubt...
I don't know about that...it's just, when things get theatrical, when the leader has
goofy pagan skull tattoos and is dressed like Gangrel from the WWF, when all the members look like they're 35 and have masks velcro sealed to their faces...when the swastika flag still has the just got delivered to HQ creases in it...lol
In the free state of Florida, Nazis are welcome but don't get caught reading Shakespeare.
Ron DeSantis is vehemently pro Israel so these nazis are definitely making him a little queasy

I have no information on the state of DeSantis' stomach, but I do know he has not been able to bring himself to denounce the Nazi demonstrators.
This could be another Trump "Charlottesville."

DeSantis appointed founder of grossly misnamed Moms for Liberty to state ethics commission. This is not a cosmetic post. The commission has real power to discipline state employees who maybe encourage reading or support LGBTQ civil rights.

This thread is nearly obsolete. Desantis’ moment has passed. That goes for all of the ‘other than Trump’ candidates as well, with the exception of Vivek Ramaswamy, who will soon be the only other R candidate you hear about.

I bet abm is a huge Vivek fan, and already has all of his (made up) anecdotal stories of his "liberal" friends all loving Vivek now, all lined up, saying they will be voting for him over Trump.

Hyuck garsh.

After DeSantis fired state surgeon general for promoting Covid prevention, he had applications from qualified doctors and a quack who had no public health experience. He hired the quack, even after it was learned quack falsified his resume.

The quack now tells Floridians not to mask or get boosters. With a Covid surge and an older population.

DeSantis endorsed Tuberville blocking military appointments in order to hold them open for Trump loyalists. Just when a lot of Republicans are fed up with the blocks.

DeSantis is going to bus in people from other states to the caucus in Iowa.

Wow.
