Luke Bryan broke his silence after much of liberal Twitter erupted over his decision to bring out Florida's Gov. Ron DeSantis at his Jacksonville concert on Friday.

The country musician took to his Twitter to address the apparent controversy, writing in part, "I typically don't respond to stuff when I'm getting run down on a social platform but here's the deal. I understand Governor Desantis is a very polarizing figure. But I grew up in a country where if a governor ask you if they can come and raise awareness to help victims of a natural disaster you help."

He noted, "I've generally stayed out of politics throughout my career. I knew people would chatter about this but for me the more important piece was [if] I am going to come back there a few weeks after a large portion of people have been affected by a natural disaster in a state where people have been good to me this felt right."

The "American Idol" judge continued, "Raise awareness, have a little fun between the GA and FL college fans before the game and do what I love on stage. This is all I'm saying about this. I'll be outdoors with my boys. Enjoy your Sunday. Love y'all #GoDawgs."

Bryan, a native of Georgia, referenced the Georgia Bulldogs defeat over the Florida Gators on Saturday.

He concluded his statement by saying, "Text: disaster to 20222 to support."

It’s right before the election. It gives the impression that Luke Bryan is supporting DeSantis’ ticket in the election. Personally I don’t care who wins in Florida but I’d prefer that artists stay out of it.

When you compare her to only Trump or the GOP then it's obvious. How about when you compare her to Bernie Sanders? A lot of progressive hate for her comes with how she used the democratic party to shaft him, then she promoted Wasserman Shultz instead of firing her as an extra thumb in progressives eyes, which in turn gave us Trump, which in Turn gave the GOP the Supreme Court. Many people on the left place the blame directly at her feet for her terrible campaign strategy and using her pull in the DNC to keep it from being a fair run off.

I'd rather celebrities of every kind stay out of the political rat race but that ship sailed a LONG time ago. Agree with you it looks like Bryan is stumping for DeSantis and he can't be that blind to think the gov wanted to come on stage just to 'help raise awareness of disaster relief.'

Excellent post. Bernie Sanders would have destroyed Trump without the DNC (Team Hillary) making a mess of things.

They were so blatantly biased and corrupt that it cost Dems a ton of support Obama had gained.

A legitimate process with an unhated Democrat would have prevented Trump from ever gaining power.

But the hubris is strong within the DNC... They didn't think they could lose.

Since the 2016 election Bernie Sanders has remained in politics, has worked to reshape the DNC, campaigns for the DNC (the same DNC who called him an independent and said he was using their party for his own gains), fundraises for the DNC, and has remained absolutely consistent with his platform ideas, he also never criticized Hilary and campaigned directly for her in 2016.

Hillary by contrast wrote a book blaming everyone else for her ineptitude and then tried to sabotage Bernie's 2020 run.

Yep. People don't like Hillary because she's an unlikeable POS. People don't like Bernie because the DNC (and Republicans) told them not to.

There is no alternate universe. You just plain don't know that, just like I think, but can't prove, Clinton would have beaten a more conventional Republican and would have beaten Trump without Comey interfering at last minute in absolute violation of norms.

Reportedly Republicans had a massive file of attack material on Sanders. They didn't use it because they hoped to get some Bernie Bros to vote Trump or stay home. Do you really think a Jewish socialist would not have been slandered into Pol Pot?

Slander him all you want. His policies are far superior. If all Dems and all Republicans show up Dems win.

Bernie has better policies for more Dems, is more likeable and a better debator and explainer than Hillary or Trump. He's the only one we've seen recently with the chops to go toe to toe with Trump.

Hillary may have beaten a more conveniental Republican. But I and many like me who voted against Trump would have possibly voted for a more conveniental Republican candidate over Hillary.

You're right, I can't know it for a fact. But I can believe it fervently. There simply isn't enough negative Bernie stuff to push. He was the far better candidate.

Whoa! I am not slandering Bernie Sanders. Just stating a fact. They had a mountain of attack ads prepared. He's Jewish, a socialist. They would have turned a mild mannered old social democrat into Pol Pot, Stalin, Mao. am not saying he is that. Just that he would have been called that.

One thing we have learned, it absolutely does not matter if the OUTRAGE is true or not. They make shit up. And the cult believes it because their god said so.

And the people who would believe that weren't ever going to vote for anybody but Trump anyway. I've seen Bernie Sanders go on a fox news town hall with hand picked audience and turn that audience against fox news moderators.

The only reason Bernie Sanders was not more popular with the left is because he is expensive to the DNC and their corporate interests (including those who literally own the media), so they black ball him.

The only thing we know for sure is that Hillary didn't beat Trump. All else is speculation. There are many reason why she didn't win but at the end of the day it is on the democrats for not delivering. Hillary also got the candidate she wanted, part of her strategy was that "no one would really vote for Trump, right?".

We don't know what the Russians had in store for Bernie either, so saying he was the weaker candidate because of some mystery documents is not a great argument. Besides other than being a socialist there just isn't a lot of dirt on Bernie, and he is a self described socialist so I would be interested to see what the Russians would do. Just look how much emotion there is on this topic 6 years later, I feel Hillary's biggest mistake was not reaching out to progressives once she crushed them. I know lots of people who were very not excited to vote for her.

How exactly did the DNC force almost 4 million more people to vote for Hillary than Bernie? Was Hugo Chavez involved?

They didn't force anything. I didn't claim they did.

They made it look like Hillary was the forgone conclusion winner (remember her leading Bernie by an insurmountable sum, before any delegates had cast a vote, and remember the media blasting that throughout the primary?). That was dishonest and crooked. They dismissed Bernie Sanders as a viable candidate, attempted to undermine him with voters, and even took steps to derail his campaign, according to hacked emails that were released.

There were absolutely corrupt. And they needed to be in order to ensure Clinton won the nomination. And in doing so, they turned off a huge segment of the voting base, thereby giving the presidency to Donald Trump.

You are talking about superdelegates, I think. That system was in place before Bernie entered the race. The superdelegates had a right to support whoever they wanted, and they also were going to be asked who they supported, obviously. And they (not surprisingly, or corruptly) supported Hillary. So yeah, she had a big advantage, because she had done what was necessary to gain the support of the superdelegates. And Bernie had not.

Somebody's candidate necessarily always loses in the primaries. It's up to the losing candidates and their voters whether they want to be sore losers or not.
