No college debt here. Two degrees. Doing quite well and I am even a dreaded millennial who didn't get all the opportunities a boomer did to build wealth.

If Florida just wanted to ban age inappropriate discussion they would not have needed a new law. Nor would they have focused debate on the hateful lie that gay and trans people molest and "recruit" or "groom" children, a lie I thought went out with pet rocks but which is now Republican orthodoxy and central political message.
A high school valedictorian was told if he mentioned his gay activism during his valedictory speech his microphone would be cut off and graduation ceremony ended. Teachers are instructed not to engage with students who come to them to discuss their LGBTQ feelings. And yes they are told never mention same sex spouse.
A target is needed. Critical race theory is too abstract. Need actual humans to hate and fear. To persuade white women who support legal abortion and gun control to vote Republican. Protect your children from child molesting queers. If your platform is cut taxes on the rich, end social security, guns everywhere and outlaw birth control, that won't win elections unless you also whip people into panic about the Other.

Actually, a much easier way to whip people into a panic is to let the leftists have their way until their agenda is clear, and its impact is felt. That’s what’s happening now. The spike in crime, the inflation, the uncontrolled border, the anti-white propaganda, the BLM violence, the gender propaganda in our schools, the violation of parents’ rights by the government—all of it is the result of leftist ideology. Let’s hope America is fully woke to the woke nonsense by the time the midterm elections roll around.

Riv, just remember (as I am trying so hard myself to do), when responding to indoctrinated individuals who post such blatant garbage, you can't argue with (or fix) stupid. And trying to do so is exhausting. And there is a whole lotta stupid in this world.

I think rather than "fix" it you have to shine a flashlight on it and expose it for what it is...mostly as a warning to innocent bystanders that this is what they're dealing with. I agree though...I'm not going to change that mindset in someone who's bought their MAGA gear and confederate flag already

if he were in Africa..absolutely. In america absolutely unless he spoke with an accent. another case where nationality and ethnicity are seperate things...any black african would call most fair skinned north Africans, Muslim or Jewish "white"..the most unwhite thing about him is his name.
He's not Caucasian...but many white folks aren't Caucasian. Anyone looking at Enes Kanter would describe him also as a white man without knowing his name or ethnicity...

How people in Africa would think of him matters nothing to whether or not he was considered "white" here. He is an Arab, and his appearance is not that of someone who Americans would look at and go "yeah, white dude". Especially in the 1960's (even if his name wasn't known).

Same for Enes. No one would ever look at Enes Kanter (Freedom) and go "yeah, he's a white dude". Mexican? Maybe, but not "white". Maybe biracial (like Brook or Robin Lopez, or Blake Griffin), but he wouldn't get the benefit of the doubt/white privilege treatment.

we disagree but that's all good....if my grandson saw either guy they'd be described as white....white isn't a cultural identity...it's a skin tone. Even Mexicans have white and dark people....Louis CK is Mexican and he's a ginger. Anybody seeing an italian, greek turk or fair skinned Armenian (Kardashian) would describe them as white ....adjectives are sometimes misleading. People moved here from Europe and changed their names to be more "white" and over generations became white...Michael Douglass is Jewish and most consider him a Caucasian even though his people are north african just like Sirhan Sirhan.....I taught a course on this at the buddhist medical college I taught at...the difference between ethnicity , race and nationality....it's often confused...my Taiwanese wife is much darker than Enes Kanter and she'd describe him as a tall white man with black hair if someone asked her what that guy looked like. All this is off the topic though so I apologize for getting off track from my original post.

The difference is, Louis CK also has white relatives (his mother is white), whereas Sirhan Sirhan didn't, and Enes Kanter didn't.

I dont think most people describe the Kardashians as "white" either.

My point is, you didn't need to clump all 3 of killings (JFK, RFK, MLKjr) as done by "whites", when it's unnecessary.

If white isn't a culture, but a "skin tone", Enes is even *less* likely to be considered white, same with Sirhan Sirhan. Better yet, would Enes or Sirhan Sirhan call themselves white?

Let's not argue....I've already answered that question to you. We don't know what they'd call themselves at all but millions of immigrants from europe did call themselves white...as well as north africans.....it's ok if you think those folks are not "white" to you...to me they are ...but Barack Obama who also had a white parent or Halley Berry aren't called white like Louis CK
because of pigmentation, not ethnicity..I'm just going to agree to disagree with you...
