Absolutely. The BLM movement has had the opposite effect its supporters wanted: it has made race relations much worse. The violence and lawlessness that occurred in the summer of 2020 only reinforced negative stereotypes that have worked against black people for decades—and yet Democrats seemed to think all the mayhem was a good thing. Their lack of common sense in this area is another reason why I don’t trust then.

I agree the BLM movement has had the opposite effect its supporters wanted, and that is unfortunate because I believe the intentions originally were well meaning but it has exploded in their face. But now that we have that out of the way, what is your feeling on ending democracy and installing an autocrat regardless of what voters want? Are you okay with that? Or is that a concern?

We have inflation because the rich are living too well.
Very incorrect.

We have neglected investing in critical infrastructure (ie- oil) because of the ESG movement. Government policy has exacerbated the inflation... We are still dealing with the ramifications of the great financial crisis of '08. Rampant inflation was always going to happen. The only question was how long the the can could be kicked down the road.

Add to that a global pandemic...catastrophic natural disasters and the trade war with China...plus the loss of agricultural workers over the "border" issue .wars...it all adds up.

If Raegan really believed Government spending was a contributing factor for inflation, he sure went about controlling it in a way that didn't align with his rhetoric. He still holds the crown for the President that had the largest percent change in debt since WW2 at an astounding 186%. Look at the table, but to put it in perspective Obama was almost 70%, Trump 34%, and Dubya at 105%.

Weren't Reagan's financial follies wrapped around military buildup?

I am sorry, what? Do you have some data or explanation beyond an unsupported statement to corroborate this hypothesis? The US has dramatically increased our oil production since the low point in 2008, beside it isn't the government that should be making those investments, it is private industry. That is unless you want a state directed economy, which I sure don't.

As for green technologies, those subsidies are in parallels to oil subsidies they aren't one or the other. They are about the same as far as I can find.

Inflation is a complex topic, but the major aspects of inflation are the supply of money within the economy. I think most analysts that were observing what was happening from 2020 onward with how the Federal government was pumping cash into the economy while the Fed was simultaneously cutting rates were predicting inflation. The expectation was rampant unemployment would counter balance this huge influx of cash into the economy, the thing that caught most analysts by surprise was how quickly employment and demand bounced back. The combination of all of these things along with how much the supply chain was impacted across the globe exacerbated what was already going to be high inflation and turned into extremely high inflation.

What happened in 2008 isn't having an effect on what is happening now in 14 years later, your suspected lack of investment in oil production is not causing much impact on inflation. The price of oil per barrel is the same it has been many times over the last decade or so at about $110-$115 a barrel, there's plenty of oil available to meet demand. What is causing rampant costs at the pump is not the supply but the speculation built into the markets, and that is in fact having a direct affect on the price of goods as they are much more expense to ship.

True, infrastructure is decaying. Too bad Republicans blocked bill to start bringing infrastructure into 21st century.

Partly, but his biggest financial follies were in his misguided hypothesis of 'starving the beast'. He incorrectly believed that reducing revenues would force congress to reduce expenditures, this proved an incorrect assumption as too many congressmen and women didn't want to have to cut funding to their states or districts as it would have had dire impacts on their local economies. Instead what they did was continue spending the same amount on expenditures but cut taxes, this meant we added huge amounts of debt to continue paying for those things the government was paying for.

UGH.......

Although hardly shy about expressing his views, DeathSantis has been silent on abuse of election workers and attempts to overturn election. Wonder why?

Maybe he believes the election was fraudulent to begin with.

He hasn't said anything, which means he knows it wasn't stolen but can't say so because idiots insist they don't need evidence, they just know. Profile in courage.

Sorry, but the Federalist is extreme right wing propaganda at it's finest. At least try to present something credible......

Hahahah....you know what the definition of insanity is?

People expecting clowns to NOT throw pies in their faces, and then mad when a clown throws a pie in their face.

It’s interesting that the same people who insist Trump colluded with Russia to win the 2016 election see no evidence of corruption in the 2020 election.

You can't see the difference between those two events? The first was colluding with a willing actor (Russia) and the second is attempting to illegally interfere with an unwilling institution (American Democracy).

Why am I even trying?? Your posts are offensive to the country you claim to be a part of. Go secede with Texas or something.

Understood, but, nonetheless, I wouldn't want these discussions going on with my knowledge. It's been decades since my girls were in school. Things were a bit simpler back then it appears.

Worth consideration:

As a parent I have far more control over my kids than the school. Our kids tell us about every book they are reading at school and we often times discuss ideas like you've brought up.

What you are showing isn't grooming, it's educating. My kids have all read book like that and we had conversations about them. None of my kids changed or had any thought of changing.

This isn't something a responsible parent needs to be worried about. Just talk to your kids and pay attention to them.

Nobody is being tricked into gender reassignment, and certainly not by schools.

Maybe because more evidence has been provided for the former than for the latter? Just sayin'..........make an effort to actually read the Mueller Report. It is certainly more compelling "evidence" than the 61 lawsuits that were dismissed because of lack of any kind of evidence whatsoever. It is absolutely staggering that anyone with any brain cells actually believes that Trump lost the 2020 election. Lotta mental health issues out there........

I'm all about the trust, yet verify mantra.

Whatever you wanna call it, hoss. She's a contributor, and had a story to tell. YMMV.

Sly has an assignment for you.

Look up, define and use a sentence (correctly) the following words.

outlier, agenda, and propaganda.
