Dude, do I really need to splain this to ya? The point was/is, it's never gonna happen.

I wouldn't go the way you think it would.

I wouldn't go the way you think it would.

Huh?

That said, I mean, would it be virtually unheard of for a lesbian woman to strip for men/money in a nightclub?

Why?

You really don't think there aren't any gay Chippendales dancers?

Is that why stripping is bad taste? Because some of them are gay?

It would be unheard of for Crandc in your case that's for damn sure.

While I understand that position ... and I hate to agree with HCP on anything, but it's still the most convenient way to stay in touch with family and friends scattered across the globe. I agree Facebook the company sucks and is vile, but so are all the other social media platforms. I find it funny when my students tell me how facebook is horrible but rave about Instagram or Whatsapp, not realizing they are owned by the same company. TikTok is widely thought to basically be owned by the Chinese government. All these apps are horrible, but for some of us the ends justify the means, and hopefully are smart enough to understand a lot of the news on them is garbage.
While all social media sucks in general, there’s no comparison. Instagram hasn’t caused millions of Americas to believe in conspiracies and idiotic stories that have no merit. For 99% of the older generation it’s pictures. Nothing is shoved down their throat like FB.

@SlyPokerCat

I'm sorry that you took offense at or are frustrated by the choice I made. I'm not going to try to convince you to agree with my reasoning, nor am I going to argue over the similarities and differences between that which I edited and other things which I have not; I will simply say that I made a judgment call to do what I thought was in the best interest of the forum, and that I stand by that decision.

What was in poor taste regarding my crandc comment beside the fact that I think lap dances are in poor taste? Again, another case of the forgotten green font.
Green font isn't saving you on that one. Your attempts at humor are boorish at best.

I appreciate your introspective reply and mostly agree. I spend a lot of time with my dad, because I have the time to spend, and he is close, my sister does not get the same amount of time because she lives far. She still thinks of dad as he was 10-15 years ago, and I keep telling her he is not the same person. He is confused much easier, he is way more forgetful, much more set in his ways and routines and takes lots of naps now. For me it really hits home that getting old sucks and certain things are inevitable, I am in the same age group as you are.

Certain things are not just getting old though, they are a product of our times. VCRs are not Facebook. Facebook is an instrument that has been used to brainwash people, so it requires a bit of social savvy on top of tech savvy to successfully use. Facebook has been engineered that way and takes advantage of people. In the beginning it was a great place for young people, but all the old people chased them away. I knew it was over when I said "this was fucking awesome" in a post and my dad counseled me to speak and present myself better, (actual sage advice from old dad, I do need to be better), but then soon after the posts from some of his generation have turned absolutely despicable. They usually are not as crass as to say fuck, but the general propaganda they regularly share is laughably incorrect and often hurtful. You dont have to be a tech wiz to not hit the share button. You only have to have minimal tech skills to google something before you share it. People our age and younger generally know this and it significantly erodes the respect that we have for their generation.

Our generation is in a unique spot. We were born and lived with modern tech, but are young enough to more easily learn the new stuff. Boomers and millennials might as well be different species. My prediction for our future is that tech will become more complex, but with AI it will reach a point where that won't matter to the average person. There will be significantly more complex things going on in the background to make the user experience as simple as possible, so things just magically work.
I'm going through the same thing with my parents but in reverse where my sister is there a lot and I live 2,000 miles away. I talk to my dad especially a few times a week and mom once or twice and don't notice much of a difference but my sister does. They are just now to retirement age and it's going to be interesting to see how their mindsets change. It's tough watching the people you've always known to be strong in mind and body start to age.

As for the tech side, I tend to think social media just sort of amplifies who you are. It will be interesting to see how our generation ages and how we are looked at in another 20 or so years.

Yes and no ... Instagram is a pretty hateful place that has done a TON of damage to the psyche of people, especially students because of the ease of bullying and the hate that is spewed there. I'd add Twitter is an even worse offender of the #FakeNews propaganda on both sides. I will agree that social media is generally one of the worst inventions of the past two decades, even if it has some positive aspects.

It was a stupid decision.

Boomer conservative is not derogatory or insulting.

To keep things fair, ya'll can expect more tags from me in the future.

But you ride ABM more than ive ever seen anyone ridden in here. I can see how most everyone would think you meant something other than just in jest.
He owns alot of rent in your head bro.

Lol this is rich. I'm just gonna ignore this and move on.
But you didn't ignore. You commented.

im just blue collar. No riches here. Just rational observations. ;). You ride him alot bro. He doesn't do the same to you. So yeah i could see how most would think you had ill intent.
I dont care one way or another. Just commenting on what i see. Carry on. ;)

72 and never been on facebook, titter, instagram or TikTok. I spend enough time on here and other sports pages.
I worry about the negative impact of social media on my grandkids but to trust their parents to coach them up well with these things.
30 years ago I was equipped with a Think Pad for work and new zip about computers, I got an email while on the road, from the home office that my Think Pad my have a virus. I didnt know if I should wear rubber gloves handling it, or throw the damn thing out the window.
