Would you rather your mermaid be top half fish or bottom half fish?
Not defending what he said or picking a side but that was not, IMO, a personal attack.
It's your whistle, I'm just sitting on the sidelines here.
here we go with a "you suffer from boredom, you do this, you do that, you bring this, you don't have it....(This is attacking a poster by the way) I was 23 when the Blazers won a championship and it was great, I'm 60 and still a fan. It is a process and if folks let it be, it's entertaining. cmeese was born in 1983 so he's never experienced that and I hope he gets to soon. He never stops being a fan even if it's often a pessimistic or disgruntled one, that's his choice. I think the point of this whole thread was to stop drawing these imaginary lines in the sand and share the site with civility. I commend him for making the effort.

He's attacking the S2 forum isn't he? As for him not stop being a fan. That's what being a fan is all about. I'm not sure a pat on the back is needed. I've been a fan since 86. I'm pretty sure there are those in here that have been a fan for a longer period of time. We've all been through a lot. That doesn't mean we lose all perspective when perspective is probably required. There are no guarantees when following a team. There are no guarantees they ever win a championship in his lifetime. Is h going to quit being a fan because of that? I hope not. That's what being a fan is about.
That was mostly is reference to a few long time members who like to dismiss all comments from anyone without 2000 posts. I just believe that every poster whether they have 11 posts or 11000 should be treated the same. Obviously this is a great forum, it is a large part why it was chosen as the official forum and why I came back. I just think it needs to be a bit more inviting to new posters. Sly did a great job welcoming a few Spurs fans that transitioned over here and would like for more of that to continue and a little less shut up rookie.
I agree. You've taken over the board. You've been suspended twice in the last month, and are still baiting posters (which I copied above), but have fun.

This is called being an ego maniac brother. It can be solved with a healthy dose of humble pieI never stopped being a fan but the forums did change my rooting dynamic. I want the team to win every night but if they are going to struggle I want it to be completely obvious to all as to why it happened. By it becoming completely obvious then I feel like the team or player can address the a situation easier. Statistically speaking and in my opinion 22 foot jumpers are a bad shot. It is a problem that I can see potentially preventing the team from winning a title the ultimate goal of any season. Therefore, when I get called stupid or my opinion does I begin wishing for bad things to happen so that it becomes obvious to everyone that I was right and something needs to be done.
Still going to be a fan and cheer for the team but forums have changed my dynamic, I am no longer a child who just enjoys the game and cheering for the team. I have ideas an opinions about what can help the team win a title, when I am called dumb for sharing them and then the team does not win a title then I start to root for certain things to happen in a game.
I would love to be proved wrong and look like an idiot because that means the team has succeeded.
and a side of crow

Rooting against your favorite team just so that you could be right on the internet is one of the stupidest things I've ever read.
BTW this was an actual question asked a NBA player today.

Please Portland serve it up I am ready for my crow and humble pie you don't even need to cook I will eat it raw like a starving Ethiopian.
Whooooa!!!! slow down there on the racy metaphors.
Sally Struthers told me it was okay long ago
She once hired out a bear to fly a cargo plan; are you really going to trust her?
That's hilarious! According to you, the "dark side" of the internet is being drawn into rooting against your own team, not wallowing in porn for hours. At anytime of the day I can log on and become totally immersed in sports, porn, or crazy cat videos. However, the internet also has a dark side to it . . .
cmeese, I think the title of the thread is what gives most posters pause here. To me it's easy to be a fan but in the recent past has been hard to interact with gloom and doom posters. If there were ever a season to enjoy the Blazers, this is one of the best. You might also want to use the sarcasm font for some of your obviously sarcastic posts.
I think forums has only increased my fandom. It's tough to be a fan of the Blazers if you don't live in Portland. Surprisingly, there aren't many people at your local watering hole here in Denver willing to debate who will be the better player long term, Will Barton or Allen Crabbe.
I can swing by here, chat with fellow fans who love the team as much as I do and get my Blazer fix.
