8-3, tied for 1st in our division and 3rd in the Conference. We are #1 in out-rebounding our opponents, #1 in blocks, #1 in defensive "points allowed" in the Western Conference and we are on a 5 game win streak, most on the road.

Keep your heads up fellas, we are doing great!

Make that a 6-game win streak....going on 7. :D

The Negative Nellies will always find something to be gloomy about. Too bad for them, this is going to be a fun season.

Go Blazers

My bad. But we all know it's going to take us winning a fucking ring before people will stop with their bitching. Jesus Christ! :S

no offense maggs....

but we have played bad teams and the bobcats cant score. also our offense has been awful and we just lost our best bench player.

thats why im thinking...

Who's down?

You think that THIS is a negative set of opinions? Haha. You shoulda been around us when the team was actually bad.

Ed O.

I'll wait to judge when we play some real teams. These are games we should be winning. If we were playing real teams, I'd venture to say we'd be closer to .500. A win tomorrow will be a good start.

I have to agree with Ed, who's down? I wouldn't call myself ecstatic or anything; I'm happy they are taking care of their business against scrubby teams and I'm hoping that the recent winning ways are helping to build the team's confidence for the tough part of the schedule in the months ahead. I guess I'm just kind of stuck in neutral -- I need to see a signature win over a few really good teams before I'll get too excited however, maybe that happens tomorrow night, or maybe not ... either way no biggie, lots of basketball left to be played until April when we'll hopefully see this team hit its full stride.

The fact that we're winning games that we're supposed to win means we're playing good ball. The elite teams win all the games they're supposed to win and about half of the "real" games.

we have played bad teams.... and a few like houston, grizz, hornets, and bobcats had bad shooting nights. maybe our defense affected them but they missed some wide open looks.

I am thrilled with the wins so far, and I believe the Blazers will be good all year. That being said, there are a lot of issues with the Blazers right now that need to get ironed out if the Blazers are going to take it to the next level. Discussing negatives does not make us negative nellies, it just means that we are paying attention to all aspects of the Blazers.

There are no two way's about it. We have lost our starting SF and our bu PF/sf. THis hurts, and it is very normal to discuss it's implications and possible fixes.

like ive said... watch a good offensive team like the hawks.... we will have trouble keeping up with the scoring. 4-1 road trip is a nice job.

I think the guys have a good chance against the Hawks, but if we lose to them? Whatever, it's a good team on their floor at the end of a long roady.

Go Blazers

My thing is, I just don't want to be "bookended" by the Hawks.

I guess my point is we haven't played anyone really good yet, and don't really count the spurs in November as a good team. I'd venture to say without any real research we may have the easiest schedule in the league for the first month. We don't even play the Lakers until January. We've played absolute bottom feeders, and for the next two weeks, it will be much of the same for the most part. We just need to keep taking care of business.

I am sorry? Denver is not "really good"? The Denver game came down to missed free-throws when Melo had one of those "god, he can't miss tonight" nights.

If Oden made these 2 free-throws or LMA the one he missed a little earlier or Roy the one he missed a little earlier - all of a sudden we would have won against a really good team and the world would be that much different?

This Blazers team is a good team - and once they start getting into the groove - they are going to be a fantastic team. If you can not see it... well, you have been Mixumized, I suppose.

Bobcats can't score. Have you noticed no one is able to score on us? So you can argue we are playing "bad teams" but those "bad teams" were held way below their normal average. So regardless if we should have beat them. We actually destroyed them.

Like I explained to Mixum. It's not that we beat the bad teams, but we handed them their asses. Making them score well below their average. This average that they scored on quality teams. People are overlooking how special our defense has become. It's going to bail us out of so many games when our shot isn't falling.

+1 I was just about to say that until I saw your comment. We beat SAS, should have beaten Denver and beat Houston (who has been tough all year). It's really funny how they discredit those games.

Tomorrow's gonna be tough game but I could see us shutting down the Hawks and slipping by with a W.

However, I'd still be happy if we lost with an 8-4 record. I don't see as much negativity as you do, I suppose.

We LOST to Denver. We SHOULD have beaten Houston last year in the playoffs too. WE DIDN'T.

We beat Houston, and that looks like a damn solid win.

We beat SA after they lost Parker for the last 3 quarters. So ya, not the best team to measure the team with.

We have won the games we were supposed to win, and lost a couple we had a shot at.

The one good thing that I have seen so far is that, unlike last year, we ae blowing bad teams out.

I still think the team needs to push the ball more, lie it did against the Spurs and the first Wolves game, and I think Blake needs to be reduced to 10 minutes per game, and Oden needs to adjust to ridiculous foul calls, and the organization needs to spend some fine money on calling out the refs and the league abot the fouls.

I expect to lose tomorrow, and if we do, so be it. Always nice to go 4-1 on a road trip, regardless who you play.

For me, it will be how we lose....if we lose.

The Blazers are #2 in the NBA in point differential.

The "down" posters seem to be those bitterly clinging to their entrenched criticisms of the team, regardless of results on the court.

Magnifier, you're so full of it.:devilwink: Winning a fucking ring will only cause some to state we underachieved because we're not yet a dynasty. When we win multiple fucking rings, some will state we're not the Celtics, Bulls or L*kers.

Meanwhile, you, I and most others will be enjoying some fantastic Blazer basketball!

Even though I don't like to agree with him, Mixum hit it on the head. As for record. Tell me what you feel the record would be right now IF the blazer faced the Los Angeles Lakers instead of New Orleans. Phoenix instead of Memphis. Utah instead of Minnesota and Boston instead of Charlotte. Of course these games on the road.

Why did I pick these teams? One end of the spectrum to the other. We have a very favorable schedule and it's due to the team poor teams we are facing on the road. Now think of what it would be if the teams were elite.

I'm going to be brutal with this. This offense is shit. TERRIBLE. HORRIBLE. It's to the point that it's unwatchable.

Well the Warriors beat the Wolves by a lot more than we did.

Again, keep it in perspective

That's the beauty of something as trivial as NBA basketball. You're free not to watch the games. There are those of us who will look forward to each and every one.

Sooner than later the game, the team will turn me off for good. Ill deal with that when the time comes.

I don't think people are "down." It's just that expectations are higher now. We want championships damnit! And I think most of us feel we have a team that can win one.

So, there's more scrutiny on the imperfections. Winning streaks over the likes of the Timberwolves and Bobcats may have been great last year, but now it's small potatoes.
