at the game last night?

He was there for the Nike hoop summit game

He was sitting next to Calipari behind Paul Allen's seats. He's a Calipari assistant. They were there to watch some of the players they have coming to Kentucky next year. Probably trying to recruit players like Xavier Henry who are undecided because Calipari decided to take the Kentucky job.

I always liked Rod Strickland (pre 2001). I especially liked Rod in 1990.

Rod Strickland, Calipari and all his other assistants can burn in hell.

I always liked Rod Strickland (pre 2001). I especially liked Rod in 1990.

Even in 2001, he played reasonably well for a back-up point guard and didn't have any attitude problems. Not really his fault that Stoudamire went into a sulk.

He's there to make 'em jump. Anybody get that reference?

I just got back from the high school game. I was looking for coached and thew only one I could see was coach Robinson from the Beavers in the front row. This John Wall kid was spectacular.

He was my favorite player when he threw that behind-his-head pass to Kersey.

Bingo. I actually saw a youtube video (a tribute to Drazen "vs" Strickland) that was pretty cool.

The recruiting class for this year is very good. Xavier (hopefully going to KU), Wall (probably to UK), Cousins (UK), Favors (GT), Bradley (Texas) are just a few of the sick players that will be ballin in the NCAA next year.

That's really unnecessary, not his fault Tennessee is just not a pro basketball state. Tennessee is a college football (and some pro-football) state, they watch Memphis and UTK hoops a bit, but more people in Tennessee know who Pat Summit is than know who Lionel Hollins or Iavaroni, are.
Memphis is a basketball city and the Tigers have been top 10 in attendence for the last two years. Fans want to see teams win, and you obviously don't see that much with the Grizzlies. Pastner is one of the best recruiters out there. He's the one that recruited Rose, Evans, and John Wall the hardest and surprisingly John Wall still has Memphis on his list, mostly because Pastner was selected as head coach. People have been critizicing Memphis for the Pastner hire, but if Arizona wasn't able to hire Sean Miller, than many said they would hire Pastner who was considered the top assistant coach out there, that's why he was the highest paid assistant before he was given the job. Currently Pastner is interviewing long time experienced assistant coaches to help him out. We already know he can recruit, but it is questioned whether or not he is a good bench coach. The entire Memphis fan base is rejuvenated by this hire and excited for the years to come. Memphis will be back to its winning ways by next season.

I feel your pain Tigers fan, I think it was a joke of Callipari to take the UK job. Tradition is so overrated, its more of what have you done lately, imo. And Memphis is one of the best jobs out there, he was turning that program into a "Kentucky" type. He may be able to handle UK's pressure, but why waste years of your life with fans who get butthurt over 20 wins. i hope UK keeps losing, they think they are God's gift to hoops.
