I could see them doing that. They'll have $19 million in cap space and basically nothing out there.

Too bad Aminu isn't DeAndre. But I bet they will probably go after who we are going after

I don't think it matters. Aminu was the first signing of the year--not just for the Blazers, but for the entire NBA. His relationship with Olshey is strong. He's not reversing course.

When did you learn we were going after Kanter. I missed that one

There was a rumor at the start of free agency that the team was "monitoring" his situation, but that was before LMA fucked us.

I hope not. I think they'll tank for Durant.

LA didnt fuck us. He let the organization know more than two years ago that he wanted out. Whoever made the decision to keep him and lose him for nothing, fucked us

So you are basing the Kanter to Portland scenario on a team in the NBA monitoring him?

I'm not basing it on anything, he's the top rfa and they have a bunch of money left to spend. I have no idea if they will go after him, but I find it hard to believe Paul Allen is just going to sign a bunch of minimum level guys after his best player left. That's just my opinion, we'll find out in like 9 hours.

I coulda sworn last yr he said he was going to resign.. I could be wrong though

That'd be our luck

And then last week said it was a PR move by the team for him to say that.

I know what I heard, so I'll believe that

I'm with you. Kanter should be a no brainer. Young, skilled....why not, if the contract makes sense for whatever plan they have.

The question I have for the capologists out there: Is there reason to do a Wes for Aminu sign and trade?

If we were at or over the cap, it would create a trade exception for us in the amount of the difference between Wes' and Aminu's salaries. Since we're way under the cap, we would realize no benefit from such a maneuver.

OK, got it.

@KBergCBS: Ripple effect if DeAndre Jordan backs out on Mavs are widespread. Multiple deals were done -- and not done -- based on his commitment.>>>>>>

Well, shit the bed.
