Will Lillard make the All-Star team if there are no injuries to other star PGs?

With this USA team stuff, it got me thinking about this. Think about it, in the West we have:

Chris Paul
Tony Parker
Russell Westbrook
Stephen Curry
Ty Lawson
Mike Conley
Goran Dragic

All of whom have a good claim. Then there's

Jrue Holiday
Eric Bledsoe (assuming he stays in the West)
Ricky Rubio (I know, I know)

AND: don't forget that Jeremy Lin almost got voted an All-Star starter this past year, and now he's on the Lakers!

That's pretty stiff competition. He only made All-Star this past year because of injuries. He's got to be counting on that again. Because, even if he takes a step up, I don't see that he even should make the All-Star game.

Not counting Lin, I think Lillard would be behind Paul, Curry, Parker and Westbrook. I think he's at least as good as Parker, but Parker's championship success will probably garner him more respect. I think Paul, Curry and Westbrook should make the team ahead of Lillard. Not because Lillard isn't a huge talent, it's just a brutal time to make the All Star team as a point guard.

Yes but Lillard made the AS team BEFORE Kobe was replaced. Lillard was not a replacement. Even if Kobe had been healthy, Lillard still would've made the team.

Lillard is more popular now with the AS events, TV commercial, and shot. I went to get his autograph in NYC and the line went around the block. Also, Lillard had a better record than Curry last year and he went farther in the playoffs. Lillard is better.

If we're talking about the starting nod, neither player is going to make it over Lin.

If we're talking about the coaches, I don't know if they look back at past accomplishments as much as we hope they would, but if they do, I would tend to agree with you that Lillard is making a good resume to go up against Curry... but the first half of the season will tell the real tale of who gets in. At least, I hope they do, because that would only be fair.

You have some of the greatest hyperbole. Lillard has become quiet popular but he has a year or two to go before he gets as popular as Curry. If you want to look at popularity just look at jersey sales, Curry was the 5th highest selling jersey last year while Lillard didn't make it into the top 15 or look at the all star voting where Curry got over a million votes 2nd in the west and 4th overall.
Is lillard a better shooter? Not from 2 or 3 or the line(L: 3% .381, 2% .458 FT% .859 C: 3% .44 2% .484 FT% .869) Close to the rim, within 3 feet, goes to Curry as well (C: .606 L: .521). Curry leads him in points (C:20.3 L:19.9) but Lillard leads in getting to the line (C: 3.4 L: 4.6). Curry is the better passer and avgs almost an assist more a game and does turn the ball over a lot (C: 6.8 assits 3.2 T L: 6.0 assits 2.7 T) and Curry steals the ball 1.7 compared to Dames .8.

Basketball is a team game so using team stats to prove someone is better then someone else isn't a good way to look at it.
I love Lillard and think he will be better then Curry but at the moment Curry is not only the better player but also the most popular guard in the West and in a huge market that gets tons of media hype while Lillard is blowing up he has a ways to go before catching Curry in the Popularity department.
