Just curious to see what everyone thinks about the likelihood of Mills seeing the floor against the Clips.

The chance is somewhere between zero and none ... that is unless somebody gets hurt (but there's no way that could happen).

I would think so. Andre and Bayless both played 40min last game(Miller 44min), so I think Mills will come in for about a 5-10 min stretch just to give guys a breather.

maybe after bayless clanks his 10th missed jumper... we will see mills. by then its too late anyway.

I would like to see him play a little, but he only gets in the game if Portland is up or down big.

My guess is that his ability to hit threes in D-league will make him too tempting to leave on the bench. Unless he gets really hot, he probably logs just 3-5 minutes at some point just to see how he looks out there.

I think you guys may be overlooking the fact the Andre and Bayless both played 40min last game. I can definitely see Mills getting about 5-10 of those. He may play as little as 3min tonight, but I really think he gets some action tonight.

not to think nate would do this.... but a big reason we have won some of these games is throwing out looks scouts have never seen.

enter mills, and bench bayless. take a chance.

That is a DAMN good point, Mix. Well done.

I can't believe I just repped MIXUM...

Yea I mean if it's not broke, you need to fix it right? :devilwink:

I think he'll play, but only garbage minutes.

What would be the point of calling him up, just to sit him?

Leave him on the pine just for cover? No, he'll get a few minutes somewhere.

I think he sits tonight and tomorrow. He is a last resort insurance policy for these games until Blake returns.

But I could be wrong...it'd sweet to see him.

I'd love to see him play tonight. Oh wait - I can't see them play! Fuck Comcast!

If Bayless suck badly, then yes. Somehow, something tells me that 'ol Jerryd will rise to the occasion, though. ;)

So, no.

mills is hot... heshitting his shots. ride it.

bayless has 1 good game every 5 nights. he cant hit jumpers with consistency. in a weird way hes kinda a sg version of darius miles. Miles never good hit a jumper consistently. lots of talent but will always be dared to shoot. sure he will ahve those big nights but they are few and far between. i think mills looks like he will be a more complete player then bayless.

Actually, if you look at his game-scores - he seems to have 1 great game every 5 nights, one good game, 1 OK game and 2 bad games. Which is, a great thing for a guy as young and inexperienced as he is.

He is also doing it with a very nice AST%, a very low TOV% for a guy that handles the ball as much as he does while drawing more fouls than anyone else on the team, based on percentages.

So - as usual, your analysis is crap. With that said - I would be shocked if Mills does not play, at least a little bit tonight. And the great news is that there is no reason not to play JB AND Mills. The way JB has been dishing it out when attacking the rim with a vengeance - there is no reason Mills can not be at the end of the receiving end of these passes.

He could. Tolliver was brought in early in the second quarter Vs. Miami.

But after getting burned badly by Beasley he was taken out right away.

The thing you haven't figured out yet is this is a hump for Bayless. Bayless came out and played, and now he is scouted, where before he wasn't scouted. If you also paid attention, you would notice that many teams are playing him much different now than they were a few games ago. Every player has to get used to that attention when they get it. He has to figure out how to deal with it, and get back to his game, which is getting to the hoop. The jump shot will come in time. It's not like his release is bad, he has good form. He just needs to get used to the range, and increase his strength from that range so he has feel on his shot. Even when he isn't hitting his shots he gets to the foul line. That is the mark of a high level scorer.

I think a lot of that was cause we were against Golden State and didn't have to play a real big man. Tonight I expect we'll see a lot more of Pendergraph and Miller and Bayless's playing time will go down accordingly.

I had mentioned this a while ago. I think this statement is very true. He will have to learn how to finish now that people know his MO is to drive to the basket. a more consistent jumper would help. this would open up the lane as well.

But I think he sat 1 or 2 games before coming in to get acclimated. Maybe Mills doesn't have that wait because he's been around the team practicing...

I'd like to see it, but I don't think we will unless it's garbage time.

I know I'm going to be in the minority for this, but I see Bayless as Mills' competition, not Blake or Miller. Don't ask me how it's going to turn out, but if Patty sticks it's going to be as a scoring PG who can play some D....which is what Bayless has been being groomed for.

Interesting repercussions if Patty works out (in terms of Rudy or Bayless now being "expendable", along with Blake and Miller). Not so much if he doesn't.

aldridge didnt come for this road trip maybe they needed another body to suit up? id like to see him play but i said garbage time onry

Quick said on the radio that he's only there so that we're not stuck with only 2 guards if another guard gets hurt, and that he'll be going back to Idaho once Blake is cleared to play again.

Quick is always full of shit, I never pay attention to anything he writes.
