Will Senator Merkley Be Relected?

Oregon has tipped. No Republican stands a chance. It doesn't matter who the Democrats run, Oregonians are on autopilot. They'll just vote the party line.

I've posted this before, but for me the tipping point was the Clinton impeachment. Prior to that, I'd voted for a fair number of Republicans, including both Plywood and Hatfield. At that time, I wrote to Sen. Smith to say that if he voted for conviction, I wouldn't support Republicans anymore. He did, and I haven't. Not that I've really been much tempted by the likes of Sizemore and Dudley... the Oregon Republican party has made it a pretty easy promise to keep.

The Washington Post noticed Oregon. More Republican incumbents than Democratic incumbents will retire after this term.
