We had about 20 kids come by for the 2 hours we were “open”. Normally we get 70-90. But it was a beautiful night to sit outside reading my book by porch light fairly uninterrupted. When I’d see kids coming up or down the street I would mask and glove up. We go kinda overboard with the yard decorations (and give out the big candy bars) so the neighborhood kids (and parents) know we’re going to be in business. The parents in particular seemed to appreciate it. This Halloween had everything going for it; On a Saturday night, picking up an hour, perfect weather, with a blue moon thrown in for good measure. And 2020 had to shit all over that too......

Edit: Best parent costume of the night was the Asian Colonel Sanders. He nailed it. He even had the chicken bucket.

I think they did some in Canby. Not my house though. Too long of a deiveway.
I feel bad for the kids. How often do we have a dry Saturday night full moon on Halloween?

Rare occasion for sure and sad kids couldn't get out and enjoy.
Took this from my phone:

Beautiful night

My young kid's friends were supposed to come over for a masked treasure hunt in our yard - but had to cancel. To entertain the kid, the wife and I made a treasure hunt for her that included finding clues and performing tasks all over the house, yard and neighborhood, that gave her candy. Since I am an old bastard one of the tasks included a chore which did not go down too well, but was done for the price of candy. Another was to get a photo of a magical beast - and our neighbor's llama was willing to play along...
