I wouldn't bet; it feels like such a tossup.

I know - Klobuchar, right? The poll results are a bit surprising.
Isn't that exactly the kind of thing you bet on?I wouldn't bet; it feels like such a tossup.

They are. So is New Orleans. Probably better than Memphis (Pels are 2-0 v the Grizz so far). And NO's schedule is massively easier.
Both of those games were at New Orleans and Memphis is playing very well at home now. I think they've won 12 of their last 14 at home or something like that. From what I've seen I think Memphis is a better team than New Orleans.
I kind of "gave up" on their chances to make the playoffs a while ago. Yes Dame is incredible when he's got it going, but it just doesn't seem like it's their year. I'm still enjoying watching the games for the most part. It's not really an over-reaction to look at it and say they not only have to make up ground but hope that other teams either fall off or don't makeup ground faster than they do. I want them to make the playoffs, just if I had to "bet everything", I would bet they don't. Even a win tonight, the battle is still an uphill one. Why? Post a poll like this after a horrendous showing by the Blazers last night and you were expecting people to be excited about their chances? This place is only consistent at being over-reactionary.
The 1/20/20 game Grizz vs Pelicans (Pelicans won) was at Memphis actually.
The Grizz have a 4 game trip coming up (after ASB). Kings, Lakers, Clippers and Rockets.
Then have Kings and Lakers @ home then another 3 game trip (including Mavs), and still have road game against Utah, Milwaukee, Portland (2), Spurs, Toronto, Denver and Rockets.
They also have back to backs against Toronto (wtf?) and New Orleans, with only one day off between games.
They also have home games against the Nuggets, 76ers, OKC, Mavs(2), Thunder.
They have a brutal end to the year playing @Dallas, @Portland, Denver, OKC, 76ers and @rockets.
If they finish with the 8th seed, it's going to be a really good finish for them.
I think the team will fight for the 8th, but finish 9th.
I think the problem with those reinforcements is rust and bringing them back I think will make the team for a short time at least worse as they try to get guys up to speed, get roles re-sorted out and all of that. I love that your sticking with your team though. I think Ja Morant is incredible and they have a really solid team coming around, I would've taken him #1 overall, though I realize the pels kind of "had" to take Zion that kind of athlete doesn't come around often. I'm somewhat surprised that Ja's taken off so quickly but I think Memphis will only get better even with a tough schedule. The Blazers have proven to me they can lose to anyone, so the "easy" schedule doesn't really do much for me. I hope Nas is back soon as outside of Dame my favorite part of the season has been he and Trent's development.I think that's a reasonable take. I'm not worried about the Grizzlies. They have a really tough schedule and they're young. I think that they fade pretty quickly after the All Star break. The Spurs will hang around, but they feel like they're running on fumes. The Pelicans have the easiest schedule, but it's easy to overreact to the pasting that they put on the Blazers in the 3rd quarter last night. That was the worst of the Blazers against probably the best of the Pelicans. They're young and I don't think they play at that level with constancy. The Blazers have a relatively easy remaining schedule too, and they have a lot more experience on their side. They also have the probability of more reinforcements coming. I'm sticking with the Blazers.

What kind of board is this that rather than discuss the topic of a thread, we end up talking about the eventual direction of the thread? This is why Jody is unwilling to spend money on this team!
Your memory is better than mine I don't remember at all what I was thinking during most of that game last night. heh.I didn't have a chance to keep up with the game thread live last night and was reading through it this morning. Some of you same posters who are complaining in this thread were talking about how we're good again and raving about the team in the 1st quarter.

No, I like an edge. Even playing games at the carnival. I was 16 and I noticed a couple of the bottles were really close together so I put my quarter out there. Knocked down both those bottles with my first throw and got another one with the second throw. won the prize. Didn't need the third ball. Only game I played the whole time I was there.Isn't that exactly the kind of thing you bet on?
After all your anti-draft takes this is hilarious.Miss the playoffs and draft Deni Avdija!
Only thing worse than the Blazers right now is this forum.

This thread is a knee jerk reaction to last night’s loss.
Good thing you always take the long view, huh Eric? This thread is a knee jerk reaction to last night’s loss.
