Rudy Fernandez is expected to be released from an area hospital later today. He has a bruised chest and a right hip pointer, and is listed as doubtful for the Blazers game against Dallas on Wednesday.

Fernandez slammed to the court without being able to cushion his fall Monday night when the Lakers' Trevor Ariza fouled him from behind on a fast break at the end of the third quarter of the Blazers' 111-94 victory at the Rose Garden.

I can certainly see Rudy's injury as being a catalyst for the team.

I hope the Blazers don't forget this with our next home game against the Lakers and if we face them in the playoffs. I know I wouldn't!:tsktsk:

I hope the playoff race is providing enough motivation, honestly. Considering how Portland played immediately after the injury, it's probably better to clear it from their minds and focus on basketball.

I agree to somewhat but I wouldn't want the Blazers to forget when it comes their turn to foul a Laker from making a basket!

When I saw the team huddled in prayer while the medics worked on Rudy, I said to myself, this is a special moment...a special team.

I would. I'd prefer to not have a team that would take cheap shots at the other team. Batum coming from nowhere to make a Tayshaun-esque block? I'll be up off of the couch cheering if that happens.

exacty. No need to sink to their level, just knock them the fuck out with solid bball skills!

I think Kobe was a little annoyed that Batum wasn't reacting to any of his cheap shots. I freaking loved it.
