1) He's shown that he can excel with a running team (Drexler-era Blazers), and a grind it out defensive team (current rockets)
2) He got his team ready for the playoffs from the opening tip, blowing us out.
3) He jedi-mind-tricked the officials into thinking that the games are actually wrestling matches.
4) I saw an article saying he was the 11th most winningest coach in the regular season, and he's also has the 11th most playoff wins. Many of the coaches above him don't have his team's win/loss record.
Some might argue that he hasn't gotten these Rockets out of the first round. I would say that his Rockets teams haven't really have the talent to do that.
