Yeah, I didn't know until recently, but you can get spices in bulk there. It's a hell of a deal if you already have a rack & just refill your containers.

No, I was talking about Penzeys. It's right next door to the Clackamas WINCO. If you want to get really good spices go there. Their prices are really good and their spices are amazing. It's the only thing they sell.

No, but I saw it! :)

Actually, I ordered Chinese walking out of WINCO and was gonna walk over to Penzeys. The Chinese place said, "10 minute!", so I booked straight there. Definitely will be getting the rub stuff from Penzeys, though. I want to see if there's a "clear" difference.

Yes, but do they have Organic groceries?

I have to admit, I'll never shop at a WINCO again. I used to do so in Beaverton, but was disappointed too often. 1/2" thick "steaks", smelly deli meat, and soggy produce isn't my thing.

I like me some Haggen. I guess I'm a snob.

Not really. I'd be choosy about perishables, myself. That doesn't mean I don't buy the non-perishables @ WINCO, though.

They have boxes and cans of cheap crap there, no? Its depressing shopping there sometimes. Sometimes when I'm back in town for thanksgiving we go there, its all so cardboard-y and canned.

personally, i try to stay away from things that are canned and boxed. also, i have a HFCS ban in my place too.

I like shopping at Winco for a lot of the stuff I'd normally buy at the commissary but don't want to drive 40 minutes to the base.

I get most of my produce and dairy from the farm. I've never had a problem with Winco meat or cheese, and I usually go when there aren't many people shopping.
