We're trying to build a defensive identity. If we sign a guy who can't defend a lick just because he's a good shooter, that will compromise it. Think of us as trying to be this season what Orlando was last season. Next season we can do our Desmond Bane trade...

Best thing we could do is find the best shooting coach in the league and lure them to Portland.

We're not TERRIBLE at threes (last three columns below). Well, except for DeAndre. Matisse looked promising in those 15 games. If he could sustain that he'd be a very valuable player.

I wonder if he has a wink/nod agreement with the Lakers for a longer deal or he just wants out of lala land

I'd be surprised if he signs a deal that pays him more than the 15.4M he was going to make next season. Of course, year after year I'm surprised by a lot of new contracts
Duncan Robinson seems like he's doing that.

If the Nuggets want one more push with Jokic how about MPJ for James Harden?

Nurk is now a Jazz player...they traded Sexton for him and a second round pick. Nurk and Markenan might actually play well together.

There goes any Jabari trade hope

Sharpe has outplayed him though...
has he really? Shae's 3 pt shot was awful last yr and his D was sub-par, I'd say they are fairly equal though they play different positions

Also, on a per yr basis it's pretty close to the 4/89 max we apparently offered Camara - hopefully this encourages him to take it

No...
Smith has been a more consistent player.
Sharpe has shown significantly more potential (ie - ability to take over a game), but he's also been significantly worse at times (especially defensively).

All in all -> Smith has shown to be a better player on the court to this point in their respective careers.

I love how some fans think Sharpe is the 2nd coming of whoever when in reality he has been a average to above average player who shows flashes of being a Star -- no more no less

Just a matter of who he's been playing with as far as I'm concerned. When he's been given a proper runway to showcase his abilities he's been a star. With Ant gone and Jrue being much more of a guy who sets his teammates up, Shaedon should finally show what he's got... that is if Jerami isn't ball stopping and taking away from the flow of our offense.
