Just listened to the latest Bill Simmons podcast with Russillo and their mock draft. They could barely get through because they were laughing so hard. They said there isn’t a player worthy of a top 10 pick….. so they have no clue what anybody is going to do. Said that there is no way these GMs know what they’re going to do either. Said Tre Murphy would be the #1 pick if available. Basically is there a player in this draft that is going to be better than Tre and they said HELL NO.

Rinse and repeat. Didn't you make this same post just last week? All of your posts sound the same. Might want to mix it up.

It would be very improbable statistically for that to be true. Trey Murphy is what, a 15 ppg, 16 PER player with 0 DBPM (basically, does not add, does not subtract on defense) in the entire draft class. That's an average started in the league. That just does not make sense. There is a reason Bill Simmons is being paid the big money for his content but does not get paid big money for his basketball acumen. If there is a draft-class vs. Trey Murphy bet out there, I would put money on the field every day of the week and twice on Tuesday?

Bill Simmons really does know jack about squat. I wish he'd just stuck with writing his draft diary and that's it - that was when he was actually funny. And I remember him being over the moon about the Celtics picking Ron Mercer (three picks ahead of Tracy McGrady) just to give you an idea of his talent evaluation acumen.

Guy has been on repeat with this drivel for months now. It's his niche.

My view: trade up for one of the two UConn guys, or, if that fails, trade down and take guys like Scheierman or Missi or Dunn. If I could convert our two first-rounders into ten second rounders I probably would, because I think you'd have a better chance at hitting that way.

I just want us to trade up from 14 and get both Cody and Salaun with 7 and whatever pick we need to trade up for to get both. I think that's doable and it gives us our roster of the future to develop. Also get rid of Ant, Jerami and Malcolm before camp. Draft an upperclassmen with experience to back up Scoot with 34 or use 34 and 40 to trade up and get the same type of guy.

Who, Bill Simmons or @THE HCP?

No I posted about Sam Vecine and his takes on the draft. Different podcast.

I listened to that dude a bit, he said there are 10+ "3rd tier" guys in the draft, which he defined as "could some day make an all-star team, but not certain". That sounds like a Trey Murphy level player. So, combining the 2 podcasts, I would still take the field.

I am going to guess that there is a very reasonable chance you will get some 6-7 times all-star and a couple of all-NBA teams player from this draft as well. If it is an athletic freak that develops his skills the way the Giannis did or if it is a crazy shooter like Steph was - who knows, but statistically, that's just a reasonable expectation. Now you just hope you have the foresight to recognize these guys, have the luck to have them available when you get to draft and have the support system to help them become that kind of player.

Considering that Portland has 5 or 6 vets available in trade, why have the teams with lotto picks not swapped them for the vet? Does Detroit really want Buzellis over Grant. I’d do that straight across for five. Does Houston really want Sheppard at three over Brogdon? Orlando want what is available at 18 over Ant? Those teams need vets and the contracts are probably better than paying rookies they don’t want.

Rumor is Houston wants Paul George now.

PG for Brooks, Jabari Smith, Lendale and #3?

Speaking of a repetitious niche, your snotty kneejerk responses to him are the most expected and tiresome read on this board. Boring!

STOMP

Cronin is going to have to be aggressive/relentless in maximizing his asserts. Can he do it? Is he capable?

I sorta dig the Edey smoke as counter-smoke to the 'come and get him' Clingan smoke up at 1/3/4

<dies>

You can at least wait and see how a player pans out. Fan reactions don't mean anything. A lot of people hated the Damian Lillard pick and thought it was awesome that we got Bayless.
