I apologize for misinterpreting your post. Can you help my understanding by clarifying what you meant by the below?

Between Chauncey and Joe talking about the need for more scoring after last season, I say they go with Knecht or Reed if he falls. They will be trading Brog & Simons eventually anyway. Then you have your new three guard rotation. OR, they could pkg their picks & Players and move up to one or two. Only if there is a player they are really high on.

I have flip flopped so many times over the last month between Cody Williams, Holland, and Buzelis. I admit I am letting the mocks influence me which is not a good idea this year. All three of those guys are said to be decent defenders, so if offense is the goal I think I would take who is available between Cody and Matas.

As much as I want to get excited about the draft and I am -- I also want to know who is going to teach them how to do good shit on the court since Billups does not seem to know how to do that to this point. If we do not get good coaches on the team to make up for Billups weakness then I am not sure it matters WHO we draft. --

Do not want to be a downer but it's the truth.

I do have my favorites for 7 and I would say my Top 5 in no order are at this time are

1) Holland
2) Buzelis
3) Salaun
4) Castle
5) Clingan

but If you forced my hand and asked me my Top 2 that I am hoping who are there for the Blazers then I would say

Castle or Salaun --

Castle would be great next to Scoot and then we can trade Ant who I do like but like Dame it's time to move on from to start a new foundation IF this team really is in a rebuild mode

You missed the context. I was responding to the comment that Edey's combine numbers show he's been putting in admirable work. Following that line of thought, his prior work ethic has to be questioned. You don't suddenly become athletic in a month...

Because I'm not the one saying his combine numbers are meaningful as such, it stands to reason that I'm not the one saying he has/had poor work ethic.

Then to clarify, it sounds like you're presenting it as a binary choice, either:
  1. Edey's combine measurements have value; or
  2. Edey had a good work-ethic in college.
Thus, my response was intended to reconcile those two presumably opposed positions.
 
What do I base that on ?? -- are you serious -- have you not watched how the growth has been very stagnant specially this year. Now I understand there were injuries but did we see any growth on the court in terms of the offense or defensive side -- little to none.

This is why I say it's a fact and anyone with half a brain and I am someone who only uses maybe half my brain at times ( LOL ) but it's easy to see unless your blind and silly.

I watched the whole season. Almost every game. I saw growth with Scoot, Camara, Walker, Rupert, and even Murray this season.
Sharpe unfortunately was not on the floor this year, but he definitely got better last season as the year progressed.

Now was that due to Chauncey? I have no idea because I am not in the practice facility. (nor are you) So yeah I question if we know whether or not Billups is a good teacher or not.

Take the wins and losses out of the equation because we tried to lose.
 
We can agree to disagree -

But I will say this is and you bring up a good point when you said -- "was it due to Billups " -- I think this is the reason they are replacing most of his staff to see if it's on him or the old coaches so I will give you that one. However what I saw on the court for the game shows me Billups is NOT a game manager but maybe more or a players type coach. This is why the Blazers need to find someone more into the X's and O's cause I am kind of sure he is not very good on that so that hire will help determine the future of the team going forward.

High ceiling guys. “All” potential and mentioned as MAY become the best player in the draft. So get 2 of 3, and it’s a wrap. [Others have gotten that same could be the best … but these 3 quite a bit. In the Blazers’ situation, pick the BPPA.]
 
Lol....only one player in this draft that Ive heard several ESPN gurus compare to Jimmy Butler because of tenacity and great D. Holland?

Yep but I think Risacher and Castle will be gone by 7.

I am hoping Salaun slips to 14. I think he is the best chance on that list to grow into a stretch 4 so I would take one of the others at 7.

I want a SF who can eventually put the ball on the floor and pull up for a mid rage jumper, because I think 3 and D players are a little easier to find these days than a 3 level scorer. So even though I think that description fits Knecht the most I favor the upside of Williams, Holland and Buzelis a little more.

Sort of. If his combine measurements have value, then we have to conclude that he had a poor work ethic in college. Your option #2 stands on its own, and really has no relation to #1.

But there's not really direct correlation of that. Just because he appeared slow and methodical in school doesn't necessarily mean that he wouldn't have had been able to post similar athletic times during the college season.
 
I would like Sarr. Do you see any chance of him falling to #2?

I would be trying to move up by trading a player and #7 with Washington in hopes Sarr is not the number 1 selection of Atlanta. At #2 I pick Sarr. I also trade #14 and two 2nd rounders to Utah for their 10th. Best available talent at #10 will be far superior to our #14.

If Clingan is picked in the top 9, then a good player will drop to 10th.

Now if Atlanta picks Sarr, and we have obtained the second pick as per above, we consider taking Ricarcher with our second pick from Washington. Now someone really good will be available at pick 10. There could even be a chance Clingan falls to 10th. If Clingan has been taken, at 10 there might be Holland, Knecht, Salaun, Topic.

I think trading up to 10 would be very wise. If we can trade a player and #7 to move up to the second pick, now we are positioned pretty good at 2 and 10

We go 100% after Forwards, Clingan aside and do not even think about guards.

Even if we only traded up to obtain #10, by trading #14 and two second rounders, having picks 7 and 10 will net us some forwards.
