Im thinking they will take Salaun at 7 and Holland at 14.

Unfortunately some have Salaun going to Detroit at 5 or Charlotte at 6 now. I think he's definitely the guy to take if he's there at 7.

I think there's a good chance one of Cody Williams or Ron Holland can be there at 14. I also think if they wanted to, they can probably trade up to Chicago at 11.

There is a non-zero chance that OKC will select someone else at 12 — someone not named Cody Williams. If that happens and he falls to the Blazers at 14, I will be drinking in celebration AFTER driving to a friend’s place (on my yearly trip North). And all Blazers fans MUST drive home safely before consuming your favorite intoxicant.

With that PSA concluded, it’s a hard choice IMHO on which one to take a big swing at with 7 — Williams or Salaun. I’d be shocked if either one gets to 14. So move up from 14 and take both.

OKC needs some beef up front.

I think good chance him or Williams will.

Possible. That would be nice. Below are 11 top prospects including Holland and Williams. For one of them to slip to 14, three additional players need to jump one of them.
Who are those 3 possibilities?

Alexandre Sarr
Zaccharie Risacher
Reed Sheppard
Nikola Topić
Matas Buzelis
Donovan Clingan
Ron Holland
Dalton Knecht
Stephon Castle
Rob Dillingham
Tidjane Salaun

been continuing my deeper dive into these guys and really no one stands out as a can't miss prospect, which is sad.

but i am shocked at how the narrative keeps diverging around two guys who i think are similar (in terms of projected impact and role in the NBA):

Holland keeps dropping in the mocks, while Castle keeps rising. I actually think I like Ron more.

I don't see either as a star but solid role players who will contribute to winning.

You didn't actually list Williams, so he makes 12.
Edey could go before our pick. Devin Carter is another lottery possibility. If someone is enamored with Missi or Ware, one of them could conceivably jump up. And of course, in a "terrible" draft like this one, there are always surprises that nobody sees coming. Ja'kobe Walter, Johnny Furphy, Daron Holmes... any one of them (or others) could conceivably blow some team away in an individual workout and get picked way earlier than anticipated.

The idea that we would take a guy like Knecht with our 7th pick... a guy who is the same size as Shaedon but has just had the time to get his shot right and put on some muscle... this is disgusting. We need wings with length whether it's for the 3 or the 4 and this isn't that dude. Hopefully this is just a favor for an agent. Hopefully we're also not looking at Clingan. This predraft process has been depressing so far. Hopefully in the next three weeks we get shit figured out.

I don't trust Joe. He better not fuck this up!

We better be drafting on high upside and trading away the guys that have already basically shown their limitations... otherwise this is worse than a clusterfuck.

They don’t play the same. Knecht can play off ball more. I see Shae as a two and Knecht as a three.

90% of this forum wanted Shaedon on draft day. go back and look at the thread.
I'm going to do that. I kinda remember a kid that didn't play in college and was not expected to be drafted in the top 10.
When I have some time to sit and really look I will go back and check it out. I'm absolutely certain 90% were not thinking Shaedon Sharpe before draft day. Now the statement you made though is "On draft day" so maybe that is the point that could be close? When on draft day are we talking? After the 6th pick? or is that before the draft started? IDK? Just seems a bit more murky to me the way it all went down?

Good catch on Williams. All those guys you mentioned could move up depending on team needs, but I think it would be Dillingham and Salaun that they would drop....not Williams and Holland. If we want either it needs to be at 7.

Your memory is most definitely faulty.
