We run a different offense with LA though. That's really my point.

And my point is that this different offense hasn't been proven. It hasn't been scouted and it hasn't beaten anyone good yet. I like different, and I like the scrappy play we show when we're trying to win without LA, but I have a feeling that this different offense would fall over pretty quick (maybe 15 games).

Don't you dare diminish the many accomplishments of the Jazz and the Nuggets!!!

LA can be easily replaced?? 24 points and 11 rebounds? Who else out there can do that? Love and that is it. There are tons of great point guards.

Who says we would have to replace him with another elite 4? I'm sure we could a hell of a package deal for Mr. Aldridge and the Blazers would be foolish to not take offers just to see what's on the table. Even if Cleveland offered their pick in this draft and a solid big like Varejao I'd look into it. Around Cleveland's pick I'm sure guys like Julius Randle, Aaron Gordon, McDermott, etc. would be available.

On the flip side, the offense with LMA hasn't proven capable of beating good teams now that it's been scouted.

Because any time you can trade a player like Aldridge for a package of Varejao and McDermott, you just have to look into it.

do i need green font? or is that ok as is?

Re: With two words, Damian Lillard might have taken hold of the Trail Blazers' franch

Calling him Robin isn't an insult. Pippen road that role all the way to the HOF. An insult would be comparing Aldridge to Aquaman. Aqua is a superhero but honestly what the fuck is he good for?

aquaman throws polar bears at seal fur poachers

Yes. So net/net the team is no better or worse. Why then, other than personal preference, do we have opinions about whether LA should be on the team or not? Once again this conversation comes down to one side kinda liking LA and one kinda not.

Lol just giving options. McDermott might be a really solid player like Wally Szczerbiak though. Plus I think if T-Rob got more run he'd easily be a double-double guy who plays his ass off on both ends.

Re: With two words, Damian Lillard might have taken hold of the Trail Blazers' franch

Lillard is blossoming into a real allstar right before our eyes but I don't see that as any reason to diss LaMarcus. LaMarcus has shown loyalty and won the lions share of games for this team all season. Guy is on crutches now and we are not a better team without him. Every starter has missed 4th qtr freethrows and layups in most of the recent losses. It's a team sport no matter how you dissect it

Re: With two words, Damian Lillard might have taken hold of the Trail Blazers' franch

trade alridge to OKC, wesley to NO, kevin durant and anthony davis come to portland. it actually works. if we had a line up of lillard, batum, durant, davis, and lopez we are unbeatable with the length we have

OK, somebody has to say it: is the "pulled groin/back contusion" talk just a smokescreen to cover for his hip problems flaring up again?

I'm glad Dame is stepping up. If it is more than just talk, there might be a chance to salvage this season. Assuming LMA will actually be back.

Re: With two words, Damian Lillard might have taken hold of the Trail Blazers' franch

Tl; dr

PS. One game is far too little to see if his words made much of an impact if Portland gets blown out by 20 in their next game then what?

He fell hard and was in tremendous pain. WHERE he was in pain is the question.

lol. Wesley for Davis? That might be the funniest trade proposal I've seen... and I've seen a ton of BGD's.

Pretty sure they turn down LA for Davis so yah Matthews for Davis even gets rejected on NBA2K

i think the fumiest trade proposal ive heard is trading lma for a jar full of farts

Well, we'd get better defensively!

Re: With two words, Damian Lillard might have taken hold of the Trail Blazers' franch

Everything Quick writes is dramatic, & every win/loss is like a game 7. In the last week he's called out the "big 3" LA/Dam/Nic in an article. Then he writes about how LA has always had to prove wrong his detractors, and states he suspects LA will answer the challenge. Then he writes about how "unstable" Blazers are no longer aiming at HCA and just fighting to get in the playoffs. Now Damian Lillard's "two words" take hold of the franchise. It's bipolar analysis. I don't dislike Quick like some of you do. But I don't buy into the deeper meaning psychobabble that he reports in each win/loss. Good for Dame for speaking up. Not sure that we need to make a movie about it though.
Good post. Waaayyyy overdramatic.

Re: With two words, Damian Lillard might have taken hold of the Trail Blazers' franch

Good that Dame stepped up and is taking over the team. It's the natural evolution, and it's as it should be. I want the ball in Dame's hand at the end, more often than not.

Quick is way too dramatic and makes every mole hill a mountain.

I fucking hate how Quick can't stop inserting himself into the story. It is possible, and preferable, to write this story without him making himself part of it.

WTF is Wright talking about, if in fact he said that? Players never work on their games in the off season? Just because Wright admits to being a fucking slacker (explains a lot) doesn't mean everyone is. LaMarcus has worked on his game, improved his game, and added a new skill to his game every single year he's been in the league.

To be fair, he (Wright) was talking about himself at a YOUNG age... not now. He may be completely different now... that wasn't told in the piece, so we don't know for sure.

When players are young they tend to play more in the off season vs work on their game. Remember Outlaw? Zbo? Even Roy didn't do much in the offseason. Wright was talking about that.

Re: With two words, Damian Lillard might have taken hold of the Trail Blazers' franch

I guess Lillard and LaMarcus are special then. I'm glad we have them.

It takes IQ to post thousands of posts when you know nothing about basketball.

I really admire those guys.
