who is the chick in your avatar Fez? I always notice her but forget to ask

I thought this was going to be about you having a tampon stuck up your ass again!

I am surprisingly okay with the NBA being gone. Fuck em. Greedy bastards.

I havent been too saddened by all this either. Admittedly I dont have income at stake like HCP or anything. But from a purely fan standpoint, and with how discouraged I've been with Paul Allen alienating one of the most loyal fanbases in the NBA, I have had much more time for Timbers, Ducks, and I have been watching some NFL too. Just wish I didnt have the Seahawks crammed down my throat just cause I live 16% of the country away from them.

I can understand how if you have no stake in it other then an emotional one, this is no big deal.

Great Stuff as Always Fez.

I have a emotional stake in my Sanity. I've said it 1,000 times and I'll say it again, if it wasn't for Blazer Basketball I wouldn't be able to cope with the NW's constant rain. So much for my sanity! Who can I sue?

your avatar makes it look like you have cankles.

at first watching this video I thought it wasn't Nolan Smith because I thought he was a left hander. And then I thought about it for a while and realized that was the rookie from last year. And it took me a long time to remember what his name was.

I'm not sure what that says more of....the lack of impact that Armon Johnson made, or that the season is already a lost cause for me.

I'm not going to say I'm devestated by the reality of a lost season almost assured (or at least a truncated one) but it's pretty pathetic that instead of good faith negotiating all we got from these two groups was a lot of posturing and digging in. When the NBA returns I'll probably watch, but with a second lockout in just over ten years and the general disdain I have for Paul Allen and his shitty style of ownership/management I don't see myself getting too heavily invested for long while ... or ever.

Welcome to my hell. I've had the Sea Gulls crammed down my throat since I was 12 and actually started watching the NFL. They think just because we live closer to the Seattle that we actually want to watch the crappy Sea Gulls and Mariners. I'm a Niners fan, they aren't that far away either but do I get to watch them on local programming? Nope.

No kidding.

Me? Blazers, Falcons, and Braves. I'm a home-town fan of each.

Bring on college ball! I'm a bigger fan of college hoops anyways.

Braves still have TBS, right?

Nope. They're no longer "America's Team". As of a few years ago, their broadcast contract went purely local. Meanwhile, TBS/TNT have gone more national.

Didn't Turner sell the team?

Didn't Turner sell the team?

Sold twice since Turner owned it:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atlanta_Braves

In December 2005, team owner Time Warner, who inherited the Braves after purchasing TBS in 1996, announced it was placing the team for sale.[18][19] Liberty Media began negotiations to purchase the team.

In February 2007, after more than a year of negotiations, Time Warner agreed to a deal that would sell the Braves to Liberty Media Group (a company which owned a large amount of stock in Time Warner, Inc.), pending approval by 75 percent of MLB owners and the Commissioner of Baseball, Bud Selig. The deal included the exchange of the Braves, valued in the deal at $450 million, a hobbyist magazine publishing company, and $980 million cash, for 68.5 million shares of Time Warner stock held by Liberty Media, then worth approximately $1.48 billion. Team President Terry McGuirk anticipated no change in the current front office structure, personnel, or day-to-day operations of the Braves. Liberty Media is not expected to take any type of "active" ownership in terms of day to day operations.[20]

On May 16, 2007, Major League Baseball's owners approved the sale of the Braves from Time Warner to Liberty Media.[21]

Not only am I not upset about part of the season being lost, I actually am excited about starting to get my money back each month.

Makes me wonder if I should even buy season tickets . . . bet other season ticket holders are going through the same process.

I've been saying all summer that both sides just presume the fans will stay on board when they are finally done arguing on who gets more money. Unfortunately they are probably right, but I would love to see a baseball fan reaction and have fans stay away from game for a long peroid of time.

So, uh, wanna to get all depressed?
