good god
Yes, that's cuz I'm KP.
I guess my question for you is whether or not you've feel KP's earned the money he's made running the Blazers. Your original post says "It's time for KP to earn his money."
My question is whether or not you really feel this way. KP turned this organization around from shit. And if you really feel he hasn't earned his money to date, my opinion is to shit on you. Nothing personal, but do you really think KP hasn't earned his money to date, YES or NO????
I'm interested to see how the team and Stern react to this news. If it gets the Wizards out of Arenas' monstrous contract, then they would probably be less likely to unload Butler or Jamison for cheap (or at all).
1. Do not make the mistake of thinking Gilbert Arenas is the player he was a few years ago. He is not. I have seen him play about 6 times this year, and he only had one good game out of those, and even then he didn't look right.
2. Jamison would be a great addition although older. I believe he can also play SF.
3. I also love Caron Butlers game. I just think he needs a new start. I don't buy into the injury problems, he has been the only guy to play all the games the last few seasons, even when the team was getting it's teeth kicked in. He plays hurt if he has to.
Are there 'morality' clauses in NBA contracts? As best I can recall the CBA doesn't allow teams to void a player's contract.
I doubt anybody is thinking of Arenas at all, but either one of Butler or Jamison (for the right price) would probably be a nice addition. Jamison would be a short term rental, but he can still ball. However, Butler would be the real prize in my opinion; I've heard a ton of his problems have to do with him being frozen out by Gil this season, and after a very rough start in November he's been steadily getting better in the past 10 or 15 games.

They have to break up that team and start over. Arenas is untradable. I'm sure that they would prefer to trade Jamison over Butler - Jamison is older, has 2 more seasons on his deal, and couple million/year more than Butler. Butler expires end of next season. I'd rather have Butler, but Jamison may be easier to deal for. How would he fit here? Is he a guy you can put out there with LA and 3 guards when we go small? He's always been a good rebounder. I like the fact that he gets a lot offensive rebounds and can score w/o having to run plays for him. At 33, he's pretty old though.
If we can do expirings and Rudy for Butler, take it. But I doubt that - the Wiz will want more. I'm not sure what they would ask for Jamison? Bayless won't be in a trade for either guy, so that makes it tough. What other "prospect" can we dangle? Claver's rights?
I actually floated a Blake, Rudy, Travis for Butler trade on the ESPN.com Wizards board awhile ago and people seemed to think that was pretty fair value. They liked Rudy and even thought somewhat highly of Blake for his ability to space the floor and play backup point guard.
Who knows what Grunfeld wants though.
Done and Done.
We would no longer be a good 3 point shooting team, but you have to give to get. Rudy may end up being a really nice player, but not here. Not behind Brandon, and not in a slow pace system. He's relegated to 20 something minutes as a spot up shooter. He wants to have the ball more and he'd probably be more effective in an uptempo offense.
Personally, I think Rudy is a bit soft. If our identity is going to be a half court team that plays defense and rebounds, then he doesn't fit that. If you can get a tough nosed guy like Butler for him, it's a no brainer.

You know I don't buy that Rudy being relegated to a spot up shooter. Bayless has shown that you can be more than that when he has been in. I think more of the problem has been Rudy is used to playing with a real PG in the lineup, and gets passive when in our system.

I'd agree with that except that he was paired up with Miller most of the time, and this year, far more than last, Nate put the ball in his hands as a playmaker in the half-court. The result? His usage rate is slightly higher, he's doubled his turnover rate from last year while his assist rate is pretty much identical.
I like Rudy, but he really is best suited as a true off-the-ball shooting guard that runs off of screens and catches and shoots; I just don't think he's as versatile as we hoped he might be.
As I said elsewhere - the Jailblazers team/stigma/incidents/era has finally be surpassed! VICTORY!
I don't know...the sheer volume of JailBlazers era stories still gives them a pretty solid lead historically, IMHO.
The Wizards are a toxic mix right now, and some GMs believe they'll be broken up by the trading deadline. Much of the discontent centers around Gilbert Arenas and his shooting.
Unintentional irony from Shaun Powell:
While the numerous offenses clearly surpass those of the Wizards - not even that can compare to pulling guns on your teammates.
@WojYahooNBA As Wiz move to demolish roster, front office is seriously exploring a deal for T-Mac's expiring deal, sources say. Butler likely bait. about 6 hours ago
From Yahoo:
Supposedly only crappy GMs can. Good ones realize their roster's already set.
