I mean, let's be honest on both sides of the story. Dirk's paycut intention was to bring another all star and Dame wants the same. Can't blame Dame he wants money. And he is not European - it was discussed before: we, here in Europe, seem to have different view of dollars.
All in all, troll is a troll, but with all fairness, if you don't admit NBA players make way to much money, you must be crazy.

ive said it for years.
Tom Brady of the nfl is a perfect example.
It isnt unheard of. And money wise it is as clear as can be that if he wants a better team, take less money. Like Dame needs an extra 10 mill or whatever a season…

restructure the comtract to allow for more quality help
Its the only way he wins.
Now lets see what more important. Status of highest paid ever and 10 mill more per year… or winning a ring in Portland.

you absolutely can blame Dame. Not everyone is going to care about making an extra 20% when they already make hundreds of millions of dollars. If this were Donald Trump this site would call him “greedy.”

if he is going to put his extra 20% above the entire city, team and franchise then he doesn’t deserve any of the respect he gets for being “loyal,” “humble,” “passionate,” “down to earth” etc. He is a total fucking fraud. A Mark Zuckerberg level fraud. His entire persona is a PR stunt and he’s about to destroy the blazers organization, possibly permanently. Actions speak louder than words.

Howard Beck on his pod said Dame's reps haven't even begun extension talks because he's not yet eligible. And he that he has never pined for Ben Simmons in a trade.

His contract will essentially become 5 yr, 245 mil. Wonder if he'll keep that last yr a player option, or take a slight discount to allow for some flexibility.

This is the new reality. Beal, Harden, Curry, Dame will all be close to 48-52 mil annually. Guys like George, Jokic, Giannis, Luka will all get there too in a yr or two. That cap increase with the new TV deal should mitigate the madness just a bit.

I'm OK with it.

This is why we need guys on rookie contracts lol.

Once again our guards are gonna be making all the money.
 
If we do this extension IMO it makes Dame pretty much immovable, we're talking over 50 mil per yr at age 36 and 37, I would not do it

I always thought the Lakers were stupid to be paying Kobe that much money while they clearly needed to rebuild..... and here we are.

The difference, is that Kobe won 5 rings.
 
I would prefer to wait until we see the results of this season. If we are killing it and the team looks awesome, I’m ok extending him mid-season or after the season.

But if we are again a middling team with big issues, then I’d prefer to trade Dame at the deadline or next offseason, and I’d rather not have a massive contract that lowers Dame’s trade value.
