They all agreed that they can have the word freedom on the jersey, nuff said.
And if they didn't all agree?

Oh come on, if you're like me you don't mind being in a long line as long as there are people behind you. Ever get in a long line at the grocery store and feel lucky because it was the shortest of all the long lines? I don't know about you but I feel a sigh of relief as I get in that line.Sadly, many people are addicted to the notion that life is a zero sum game. They believe they can't win unless somebody else loses. In fact, many are OK with losing as long as somebody else is losing also! There is a good sized chunk of the Trump base who would voluntarily eat chicken shit on moldy bread - just as long as their fearless leader promises that non-white will have to eat their chicken shit without bread! It's sick, brainless, and pathetic.
But not fired.Looks like Woj got suspended.
From what I understand, the list was created in consultation with the players. I don't think that counts as a "fixed narrative"--this isn't something the NBA imposed upon the players, and an unpopular slate of messages (to players) wouldn't be an inducement to keep players willing to play.
Basically that he wants the NBA players to wear other statements that express other views. That makes no sense. These statements on the jerseys are the PLAYERS' views. It's a players UNION. The Senator isn't in the NBA so he doesn't get to choose.
So, I really do care what the players think. I actually think mere "employees" are what make up businesses. Don't get me wrong, players in the NBA are more than employees, as you can see in the CBA, the players have a share of the revenue therefore they are partners with the people who own the franchises. You basically say the players are out of touch. You sir are completely out of touch. Oh and by the way your precious owners were decision makers about the social justice messages, they signed off on them too because Black Lives Matter to NBA owners. Maybe they matter to NBA owners because they make them rich or maybe a lot of NBA owners are just sensible people. As far as the fans (who could be anybody that wanted to claim they are fans) choosing what messages go on the back of the jerseys... why would that make sense at all??? Also for the record a formal education doesn't make someones opinion or life worth more or less... it also obviously doesn't automatically make them more informed. Your ranting in here at the moment is pretty over the top to be honest. The players union represents the top 2 dozen or so players, and most of the rest just keep their mouth shut to stay in the league.
If ANY political statements are allowed on uniforms they should be selected by either the fans or the owners. The players are merely employees being paid fortunes to entertain the fans. NOBODY cares what they think, especially since a large majority of them have little formal education and even less common sense. This is certain to hurt attendance and product sales, and drive some longtime fans away for good.
Like, you are saying that this guys shtick is completely outside the realm of reality right because I know you can't be buying this nonsense. I don't know if that recording is legit or not but thinking you are getting accurate representation of a company from a random entry level representative at what is obviously a third party call center is not at all reasonable. Also the representative who said that KillCops was available obviously wasn't a reliable source and seemed confused. The fact is this hack Dave Hookstead could not manipulate an NBA replica jersey vendor even at a third party call center level to manufacture any of the nonsense he was purporting the NBA would put on the back of a jersey.wow...
unreal.
Are you just returning after a ban?The players union represents the top 2 dozen or so players, and most of the rest just keep their mouth shut to stay in the league.

The NFL and MLB also have almost all of their licensed merchandise made in China but it doesn't stop at sports leagues. All of the fortune 500 do business in China and most purchase goods and materials from China or Chinese companies, not to mention that over 20% of the fortune 500 are actually Chinese companies. So stop trying to smear the NBA. The world needs to do something about the human rights issues in China but that doesn't start with the NBA. Please get real.Practically all NBA products are made in China. Cutting ties would slash their profits enormously. Those profits come directly from the blood, sweat and tears of over one million imprisoned Imgur SLAVES in "labor camps" and "re-education" farms. Yes, the NBA is the most racist sports league in the world by far and a large financial supporter of slavery in Asia.

It's sad that we have this kind of mentality still in America. You sound like a true trumper. Your trump is nothing but a bully and racist that has a low iq.
Except he wasn't "plastered all over it" There were a few comments on his base, and then a joke or two about sending him somewhere. And then Jon's comment and yours shifted that. There is also an orange man bad thread so most basketball folk don't have to read all the daily drizzle about how much others hate Trump.
Times can improve you know. Just because something was done 8 years ago, doesn't mean it has to be copied again 8 years later.
Be better.
A thread about Woj and the NBA should not have Trump plastered all over it.
In regards to 0 or 100, if someone says black lives matter, there isn't a middle ground. There isn't stuff getting done in the middle there. It's you agree with that, or you don't. You can't partially agree with someone's life mattering. And if the response is to talk over it with all lives matter, then it is ignoring the message, the statement, and is again not some middle ground to discuss there.as someone that doesnt live in the USA, these are the parts that confuse me. what i see in this is - having an opinion or talking about it is 100% only talking OVER it, which is the biggest barrier i can see in dialogue in the USA.
there is no middle for discussion without instant polarisation of opinion.
ie
A) I like oranges!
B) so you hate apples?
A) no i dont hate apples, I just like oranges.
B) ok Hitler.
rather simplistic but thats the nutshell view many people i know outside the USA seem to share.
there is no middle.
ie in this, saying ALM is bad, cause youre talking over BLM, not talking with, its definitely over, and people shouldnt have an opinion on race if they are x race cause racism.
the whole "stay quiet" thing is just bad imo. its either 0 or 100, agree with everything we say in lockstep or stfu and you're evil.
sadly enough, the middle is where many people are and encouraging them to stay quiet only widens the gap.
stuff gets done in the middle.
i wish you guys well, but i think its more the start of the divided states of america than united at this point.
happy to hear any 'discussion' on a path to betterment that doesnt require silencing opinions you hate hearing or whatever.
we actually talk about things down here, it does wonders tbh.

And I'm exercising my freedom of speech then. Stop smotheirng your ideals on everyone else in the main forum!!!!!! Or dont bitch about the responses you get!!!!
That's what the OT section is for. You have lit into me many times about this type of stuff over the years....
But I guess because you have an agenda, its okay to tell others to not do what your doing...
Cool.
Edit: Looks like Sly did the right thing.
You do realize that riverman is leaving this forum and taking a break because of some of your posts and other similar posts. It's also why I post a lot less as well.

I proofread and then often I still have to go back and edit, just because my impulsivity to be heard is stronger than my desire to accurately articulate what I'm thinking but once I see it posted I again go back to wanting it to be correct.
