OT World Allies Think US Law Enforcement Aided Coup Attempt

All Cops Are Bastards, what do you expect?
 
Well...................we were told days in advance that the National Guard would be available, along with LE from surrounding jurisdictions. We were literally told they were prepared for anything and that the city would be kept under control. Yet we had cops posing for selfies with the protestors, pulling barricades aside AND virtually allowing access to the Capital with little or no resistance, all while supposedly short handed. Too, yesterday should have put to rest forever the question of whether systemic racism exists in America. The only reason for the light casualties is that the vast majority of protestors were white.......and male. What other conclusions can other countries draw by what transpired yesterday?

Four people are dead in one day. There were riots in nearly every major city throughout the US all summer long and never once did you see four dead in a day. Your point isn’t held up by facts. How many dead white people would it take to pacify you, out of curiosity?

Because there weren't riots in most major cities. There were protests.

Yeah, 55 year old Kevin Greeson

Apparently the other two

50 year old Benjamin Phillips had a stroke

And 34 year old Rosanne Boyland was trampled

All three were Trump supporters

None would have died because the police would have had a much stronger presence from the onset. BLM would not have the chance to storm the Capitol building like this. That is what should have been the case in this situation.

No, they would never attempt to get inside with a much larger police presence. That is what the problem was. For some stupid reason not enough security forces were deployed in this scenario. Whether that is due to complicity by the Capitol police force I don't know.
 
Wow. It is unbelievably sad how easy it is. Dance Puppets, dance as they pull you're strings. You all are being used and played for fools. The media and government is doing exactly what they want because the blind and ignorant people(from ALL SIDES)are doing the hard work for them. Furthering the divide and expanding tribalism. If the vast majority of people don't wake the fuck up and see what they are doing they will get exactly what they want; A Race War.

I'm not going to assume something that wouldn't happen. Those MAGA idiots would not have tried to break through if the same National Guard presence was there like it was for the BLM marches. That is what the problem was.

Personally, when it comes to rioting, vandalism, violence and disrespect for public property, as many dead white (or other color) people as it takes to stop it. And I don’t give one good shit about their political affiliations of ideologies. Bad behavior is bad behavior. I did not support the breakdown of peaceful protests in any city, including Portland (despite government agents intent on escalating events). Once things broke down into chaos, law enforcement should have stepped in. But..........hold the phone.....they really couldn’t because it was they themselves who had planted the seeds that lead to the chaos. To take a “firm” response was to give validation to the protestors.

But we’re comparing apples to oranges here anyway. You’re playing with false equivalencies. A white (mostly male) mob stormed the US Capital and briefly took control (hell, left wing protestors never even made it into the Federal Bldg in Portland). Rationalize all you want, it was wrong. They clearly tried to subvert established democratic procedures. Capital police were obviously complicit (see the resignation of the police chief). How much proof do you need??? Or are you one of those that actually believes the election was truly stolen??? This fiasco was an attempt by disaffected white people to hold onto power (that only their skin color gives them) that has been slipping from their grasp for decades. No more, no less. Systemic racism is embedded in the American bedrock. The trick to rooting it out is to acknowledge it.......

not at all....see the National Guard hesitate to respond....see Trump's glee at the march...and his egging on of the terrorists...this was an act of terrorism by Trump cultists....just because they are white people doesn't make it any less horrible....it was a coup plain and simple.

It's ridiculous hyperbole in terms of apprising the reality of the situation--this obviously had no "coup" potential.

It's not ridiculous hyperbole in terms of what the attackers thought. Trump himself believed that Biden's presidency could be killed off at the step of the electoral votes being counted in Congress--you really think his stupidest followers didn't also think that?

understand what you are saying but I think it was more a bunch of red neck white supremacist nuts breaking in the People House causing trouble and hurting people. When I think of a legit coup there would have been total war with guns a popping everywhere with hundreds killed. Plus some of the military involved in an actual overthrow. Once more cops and the guard showed up it clear out pretty fast. It definitely was insurgency.

if you get pissed off at somebody, haul out a gun with the intention of shooting the person, and fire off shots at that person, it's attempted murder.
