How about that World view of US law enforcement aiding the coup? So far they've arrested state legislators and several out of district policemen ...someone held up the support for Capitol police for at least 90 minutes and 3 GOP legislators were in regular contact with the organizer of the coup....hmmm....let's make this an S2 drama....
 
I believe what is agitating OB is that he does not care for the term both sider as it suggests both sides should not be discussed on an equal level.

His anger stems from a single question. Why can't both sides be discussed?

He also feels both sides is an insult because it does not have a positive connotation.

Whoa there. since when does a person in here have to be involved in a conversation to comment on the conversation? I agree with this, comments really ought to be about the subject at hand or about a post and never the poster unless it's light hearted banter, humor or a compliment.
Also, I think this thing has gone on too long and too far. Sometimes when I feel people have treated me unfairly and it's gone on and on and on, I just try and drop it. This saves me lots of ulcers.

It's certainly a tough time to be a conservative in America. The generalizations put you in a bit of a hole...

The extremes of both parties are on display with Liberals demanding equal rights, prompted by documented atrocities, not to mention history that goes back to the early days..... and Conservatives looking pretty fascist, supporting lies and weirdos and denying EVERYTHING--racism, science, democracy, etc.--culminating in a storming of the Capitol, ie our democracy, for why?...yeah, exactly.

It's getting more and more difficult not to condescend, honestly, watching this dizzying display of cognitive dissonance.

13 police officers suspected of involvement in the Jan 6 riots...just the tip of the iceberg....this Jan 6th event may go down as the last gasp for White Supremacy in our history....hopefully we can stamp this shit out and find some unity moving forward....one nation..one world...one people. Respect...pass it on.

my point was, a good conversation was being had. There was no reason to interject what she did. It wasn't involving herself in the convo, it was a callout. An inaccurate one and an immature way to do it.
If someone is going to try to label me as some soft racist, do it to my face or don't let me hear/read it.

To copy a saying in the movie Stripes "Lighten up, Francis." Don't take everything so hard as though you were being singled out. And, for goodness sake, please let some trivial stuff drop. There is just too much anger being thrown back in forth in here. I see Crandc has dropped it so why not you?

I ONLY brought it up because of your comment about crandc entering a conversation that she was not a part of else I was just trying to ignore the whole mess.
Outside of my original post about someone not being part of a conversation my only remarks on the subject, and I no longer know what the heck the subject is, has been to reply to you. If you want to drop it as I do, then now might be a good time, as it's certainly a great time for me, since this is going nowhere.
Okay,I've said my piece and now it's your turn and then let's be done, this is only turning into a feud and that's the last thing I want.

I'm an optimist....you weren't around for the civil rights riots, assassinations of the Kennedy's and Martin Luther King or any of the violence in the 60s......I'm old now but my kids are all headed in the right direction and I see good people more than these brain dead idiots that stormed the capitol....I think racism will go back to the hillbilly havens and stay there...they had this 15 minutes of fame and it's over......I think when covid danger is past...some semblance of normality will prevail....not sure that it ever has but this is a wake up call...alot will depend on holding people accountable now and addressing racial profiling and corruption in public service depts like the police, the military, etc.....I think we need to look at gun laws again...and weed out domestic terrorism and hate groups
