The World Cup is the only time I actually watch Futbol :)

Yeah, I assumed more people would be interested seeing as the States are in the mix, so here I am!

I had a ton of fun watching the US back in... 2000? I think that was the year that they lost to Germany.

Here are the pots the teams will be drawn from:

Pot 1 (seeds): South Africa, Brazil, Spain, Netherlands, Italy, Germany, Argentina, England
Pot 2 (Asia, Oceania and North/Central America): Japan, South Korea, North Korea, Australia, New Zealand, United States, Mexico, Honduras
Pot 3 (Africa and South America): Ivory Coast, Ghana, Cameroon, Nigeria, Algeria, Paraguay, Chile, Uruguay
Pot 4 (Europe): France, Portugal, Slovenia, Switzerland, Greece, Serbia, Denmark, Slovakia

The first pot are seeded nations, as they were the top of their qualifying groups (South Africa automatically gets seeded because they're hosting the tournament).

The other pots are sorted by region and each pot hold eight teams. In turn, there will be eight groups labeled A-H.

Yeah, 11th June to the 11th July.

I couldn't watch the final with France vs Italy last go round because I hated the Italians so much. Bunch of flopping douche bags.

If you guys have any news/articles related to the draw or the World Cup in general, feel free to post them here.

Basic schedule for the ceremony (all times EST):

1200:
Fifa's opening sequence, followed by a warm welcome from the top of Table Mountain.
1205: Message from Nelson Mandela.
1216: Trophy hand over.
1242: The official match ball is revealed.
1255: The draw is scheduled to begin.
1323: End of draw, followed by analysis.

Interesting fact, a European country has never won the World Cup when it has been hosted on another continent.

Has it ever been in Africa before?

First time ever.

I'm excited for next summer, I had originally planned to visit there during the World Cup but will not be able to. Have to go back to Kosovo end of June for a cousins wedding. lol

And yeah guys visit the World Cup forum here at S2, lets cheer US into winning the whole damn thing.

It would be unprecedented if the US won.

Isn't Brazil the only team to win it out of their continent (at least before it was held in Korea)?

the U.S. is getting better and better.

I think we will have a good showing, at least if we get our 2 injured men back.

I love the World Cup! I watch other soccer at times, but the World Cup is the only soccer (Futball) i'll go out of my way (or record) to watch.

GO USA! GO DUCKS!! GO BLAZERS!

Stoked. Too bad I'll be taking a chemistry exam. Got something to look forward to afterwards now. I expect a good thread!

The US team have definitely improved but you have to be the best of the best to win the world cup or get to the semis.

I can see Spain going all the way this year, and they deserve it.

Of course, I would love to see England have a shot at the trophy. We have all the players, the manager, and the fans, but do we have the desire?
