I'm not a soccer fan. I like the world cup, but I don't watch MLS or EPL or anything like that. I get tired of people raging over Americans getting into the world cup. I see it on facebook all the time complaining about the explosion on social media about the USMNT.

All I'm saying is more than any other sport it seems that if you don't drink the soccer kool aid soccer fans get bent. It's not bad, it's just kinda funny. They instantly go on the defensive. So what if some people, who don't normally care about soccer, get real into the World Cup?

It's compelling and fun to watch. It's only once every four years, so you can really see the emotions and the energy that fans from other countries put into this event. I have a hard time getting into MLS, but the World Cup is just really fun to watch.

I'm saying there are people who hate soccer and hate everyone else for "pretending" to like soccer during the World Cup. It's the same people who hate the Olympics, and hate everyone for "pretending" to care about the Olympics every four years.

Soccer is the most popular sport in the world because it's the easiest to play if you're poor.

All you need is a ball. You can create your own goals. You don't need anything else. Just a ball.

Baseball is probably the second easiest to play if you're poor. All you need is a ball and a bat-like object. American football is probably the hardest to play if you're a third world country. Extremely expensive with all those pads.

Money isn't the reason soccer is so popular. Pick a sport with a ball and you can play it without going to a sports store for equipment. You don't need pads to play a variety of football.

It all boils down to cultural tradition.

Yeah disagree about football. Growing up we played 1 on 1 with a qb, 2 on 2, 3 on 3, etc. No need for pads. I think baseball is the hardest for kids growing up because of there is a limited number, the game is shit or just like home run Derby or something. Takes more people and more space
