Sounds like you were the one that wrote the over-the-top police report... you've found your calling!

the officer was treated for injuries. Did the cop roll around on the concrete after this golfer was arrested? "Let's get him in trouble"

According to the eye-witnesses, he more of less jumped on the slow moving car, but used salacious language in the police report. As I'm sure you know, police reports are far from the gospel and often worded in a dramatic way.

If what the police said in the report was true, Scheffler would have almost certainly not been released on a no-cost bail. But at the end of the day, we'll see how the DA handles it. If they end up pressing felony charges to match the report, then I guess we'll have to wait to see how it plays out it court. If all the charges get dropped, that'll tell us all we need to know.

Wow, I take it all back. @Whyachi was right, this was a horrific violent attack that caused the officer to be treated for serious injuries.

this is the arrest video, not the dragging incident. Besides the police report, the only witness statements are reporters who write wonderous sportsy stories for Golf Digest.

hahahaha

there are so many clown takes in this thread.

there’s a reason why there’s no body cam footage. It’s bc the cop jumped on a moving car like a moron and lied about being dragged 20’

lol, the cop is in trouble for not activating his body-cam and footage corroborates what Scheffler and multiple eye-witnesses have said all along.

There's a reason we haven't seen "the dragging incident", can you figure it out?

the arrest messed up 1 day of this golfer's tournament, oh boo hoo. It's old news and it's time to move on.

trending stories include:
-will Kyle Busch put Stenhouse Jr. into the wall? And: -should the Fever coach get canned for going 0-5 with rookie sensation Caitlin Clarke?

"It's old news... it's time to move" = "I got this one way wrong, can we please not bring this up"

it potentially cost him millions of dollars

I’m sure you would just shrug that off with an oh boo hoo if you were in his position

After watching the video evidence it is even more obvious all charges need to be dropped. This is ridiculous this escalated to this point and the cop is the one out of line here with their actions and what was written in the report. What a joke!

To me, it doesn't really matter who it happened to, it's such a horrible look.

He is lucky he's in a position of power, others less fortunate would get thrown into the system because many give the benefit of the doubt to police reports which can so easily be dramatized or fabricated.

Yeah I just think of a poor uneducated person, first off they possibly wouldn't have been able to make bail and get out of jail quickly. Secondly this could be charges that ruin their life, think of an assault leading to multiple years in prison for doing nothing.

This detective needs a hearing and likely to be fired, possibly face charges himself because the evidence sure seems to indicate he filed a blatantly false report.

Sounds like the detectives name is Bryan Gillis. Would think we'll hear of very detailed investigations to his activities in this case as well as all prior ones.

Unfortunately, a lot of the internal investigations aren't as independent as they should be.

Well, if the officer doesn't have more evidence than that he should probably be fired. Police need to wear and use body cams.

PGA is a chaotic. This golf guy should join the LIV. Guaranteed contracts, bigger payouts, and he never would have been wedging his car through a fatal crime scene just to get inside the overcrowded golf course.

oh I def agree there. I’ve been vocal about cops needing to be held accountable on here. They screw the regular working citizen with shit like this every day.

I don’t even really feel sorry for him, but he did (potentially) lose out on a lot of money because of some dumbass cop.

I honestly haven’t been following this, is the above video that actual occurrence or the arrest?
