Worst Call In NBA History

Twitter has been up in arms about the reffing in this game all night. I'm not watching it but from the sound of it on Twitter its 8v5.

The David West post move was also a terrible call he hooks the guy with his right elbow to the back of the defenders head and it’s a foul on defender

And the ref was probably adamant that he got the call right. It's calls like that which make you wonder what the heck is going on in their mind. The absolutely didn't see a foul so their judgement is so bad that they THOUGHT they saw a foul which just makes you question any call they make. It's one thing when it's close but that is a blatant fabrication job that high school refs wouldn't make.

I'll be honest, from 1976-2002 I watched every Blazers game televised and most any NBA on TV but barely watch any NBA games since. I will watch a Blazers game if televised which is rare though I did watch the Blazers-Pistons game on Directv on-line which shocked me that I could actually get. I played in junior college and coached in high school and the NBA game just kills me to watch. Superteams, calls like this for stars and no calls for lessor players/teams, and the whole league controlled garbage just bugs me, but I will always be a Blazers fan.

It was a she. Lauren Holtkamp. Worst ref in the NBA. BY FAR. She needs to get fired after this job-- this call wasn't the only one she's blew in this game..

Players know she's shit, but she still keeps her job.

Lauren holtkamp is a terrible ref but because she’s a woman and the nba is “progressive”, she would never be fired

Oh I couldn't agree more....and I knew who it was but didn't want to throw 'she' under the bus and be accused of being sexist since everyone seems offended by almost anything anymore.

If it were a male ref blowing the call, you'd show him no mercy. Sexist.

Violet Palmer was OK. Not great, but not this shitty.

Who gives a shit if it's male or female? This one is just fucking awful and needs to lose her job. CP was right, not because she's female, but because she sucks.

This is PC'ness gone amok. I don't care if the ref is male, female, transgender.....doesn't matter. Just make the right call. And since she has repeatedly made HORRIBLE calls, why does she still have a job unless it's for political correctness because it's certainly not for doing a good job.

I remember one game where, I think, Mark Bryant "fouled" Charles Barkley by being in the same state as him.

Sorta like the time D-Wade spun, fell, and got a foul called on his defender...who wasn't near him.

Or the famous foul on marcus camby who was 15 feet from Steve Nash.

And Joey "Thin-Skinned" Crawford was just waiting to T up anyone who questioned that madness.

Cuz almost stepped on that dumb little flap thing on his shoe and almost fucked his ankle up. Did anyone else see that?

Holtkamp and Tony Brothers are the bottom 2. The best is the gay guy and im saying that because I don’t know his name, which is a compliment in itself.

I also miss Danny Crawford.

Yes that was a hilariously bad call. But it certainly was not the worst call in NBA history. There have been many more just like it over the years. Julius already pointed out the time DWade tripped himself and the Blazers got called for a foul that was equally as bad as this one. I recall an equally bad call against the Kings, in favor of the Lakers, in the 2002 WCF, that was much worse, both because it was only one of several horrible calls in favor of the Lakers in the waning minutes of the game, but because the call cemented the Lakers WCF victory over the superior Kings. Are we to the point now where if something goes against the darling Warriors its a national tragedy?

I have seen it before.

Dwyane Wade against Portland in Miami. Same thing. Tripped over himself and fell down. Foul on Portland. Same shit, different day.

Worst call/game ever - Game 6, WCF, 2002, Kings - Lakers. Kobe purposefully clotheslines Doug Christie, bloodies his nose. No call.

The closest I've ever gotten to believing that a series was fixed.

Of all the sports the nba would be the easiest to have rigged, I still believe that refs are encouraged to make playoff series go an extra game here and there.
