Worst victory ever!!

Not a response to the original post, which I get is sarcasm, just a general thought: with all the injuries this year, I think we should lose the feeling that any non-crushing victory over mediocre/bad teams is a bad showing. This year, take a win and be happy.

At the start of the season, if someone had detailed all the player-games that would be missed, and to whom, along with how many games Roy and Aldridge would play at below 100%, I'm pretty sure people would not have been been expecting them to win around 47-48 games (as they are on pace for). They shouldn't be penalized for the fact that they've actually salvaged the season despite the injuries, through their own effort and talent, by fans returning to the old, preseason expectations.

Making the playoffs through all of this will be impressive. Winning a first-round series would be improbable and remarkable.

Wait til next season for the "only easy wins are acceptable" expectations.

well said Minstrel.

What a lovely Avatar Wheels

we escaped our last 2..... cause the other team went cold. thats the cold hard truth.

Seems like you are still making excuses for why the team didn't lose last night. I thought you said there would be none of that?

Go Blazers

I have no problem with the margin of victory. My problem has been with the lethargic team. There is no excuse for not putting out the effort, and I have been observing a lot of that lately. It starts at the top. When the leadership on the team does not play with intensity, that rest of the team follows. The facts are I don't expect the team to do well with all the injury problems. But I do expect the remaining players to play hard. They were playing hard earlier in the year. But somewhere around the last time LA came into town, they stopped working hard.

Excellent point. Mixum said if Blazers lose, he doesn't want to hear any excuses. But when the Blazers won the game, what do we get but excuses from Mixum on why they won.

For the first time ever... I turned off when I thought it was over, and the Blazers came back and won. The Blazers were down 16 right before the start of the 4th quarter and I called it a night.

Sucks to be me. :banghead: Now I can't wait to go back and watch this horrible worst thing ever that had us coming back from 16 points in just about 12 minutes.

When was the last time you watched a game where the losing team was the first to 100?

(edit) I went and looked it up and apparently the truism that "first to 100 wins" comes from Clippers' announcer Ralph Lawler:
https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/wiki/Ralph_Lawler
Lawler's Law: The first team to 100 points wins the game. In games involving the Clippers since 1978, Lawler's law has been true 91.5% of the time.[1]
Lawler's Law Corollary
: The team that shoots 50% in field goal percentage wins the game.
Lawler's Overtime Law: The first team to lead by four points in overtime wins the game.
Now you know, and knowing is half the battle.
