He’s eligible to be reinstated for the 2021-22 if he passes protocol and is Dame and CJ’s age. Could be a reclamation project with tremendous upside and almost no downside on a non-guaranteed veteran contract. Kick the tires at training camp and see if he has anything left?

Do we know what drug(s) he was banned for using?

I don’t know the answer other than it was more than weed, but guys like Roy Tarpley and Michael Ray Richardson got multiple opportunities in an era that wasn’t nearly accepting of drug use as 2021. If he’s clean, could a steal if Dame and CJ get in his ear.

Truism: [This may have gained traction in the Rodman years]
You can have one jackass on a team. Get two and they breed.

[IMHO the same may be true of one good player who doesn’t play much D but can be hidden. Get two …]

If we resign Powell there is no need. Dame CJ Powell Simons provide plenty of guard scoring.

If we don't sign powell or we trade CJ for a forward I would be good with it, although I would suspect some fans may not. That is assuming Neil and Dame believe Evans work ethic is good enough for the culture.

I dont care much about drug violations but I do think its important to get people with great work ethic.

You guys are crying being out basketball on Zach but some you guys been basketball for awhile.

I read this like three times and I still can’t figure out what you’re trying to say.

I interpret it as, "you guys suggest that Zach will be ineffective if/when he ever returns from his injury because he's stormy so much time of the court, but at the same time are seemingly in favor of bringing in guys like Beasley and Evans who haven't played an NBA game in 2 years."

LOL...yes....Layman Fever

it isn't exclusive to Portland fans but the number of young players who get massively overrated, for awhile, for flashes of talent in small sample sizes is legion. Just in the Stolshey era there was Claver, Meyers, TRob, Crabbe, Vonleh, Layman, Simons, Gabriel, and possibly Little. In many cases the Blazer F.O. was guilty of some overrating too as shown by the 2nd contracts for Meyers and Crabbe

Yeah that's sums it up.
