Haven’t we been over this more than once already before?

Your statement answered your question. Rose wasn't on the team when benched he had been the star on.What about when Thibs sat Derrick Rose - who was his buddy from Chicago - and Evan Fournier, both highly-paid vets who had been starting - down on the bench (and more strongly, pretty much took them out of the rotation) and the Knicks never looked back?
Were they happy? Hell no. Did that matter? Also hell no.
And this is what we're holding back Scoot and Sharpe for?Agreed. Which would work alongside a point forward like Deni and a defensive guard like Thybulle (or possibly Rupert)
Not sure exactly how you stagger Deni's minutes so he can start and also play with the 2nd team, but teams do it all the time.
And this is what we're holding back Scoot and Sharpe for?
Because again, Simons isn't going to be a bench player in Portland.
I understand the premise of the thread, and I'm not arguing with you. It's just jaw dropping how bad we'd have to make ourselves to cater to him, even to play him off the bench.Again, this thread is based on whether he is ok with coming off the bench. Because until he says so, we don't know.
As for Scoot and Scoot and Shae, if anyone is holding them back....it is them. If Simons sucks so much it should not be too hard to pass him by. And I expect them to do it this year.

AgreedThey could have done the same with Josh Hart but they ended up extracting at least a 1st rounder for him. Also, can we stand ANOTHER season at not starting Scoot? I honestly cannot. He needs to get moved asap.
Joe’s got to have something up his sleeve.
This is silly. We already have data that shows most players are their least productive when playing with Ant.
Problem is the conductor is playing with model trains
He's far and away the best point guard on the team. They could have done the same with Josh Hart but they ended up extracting at least a 1st rounder for him. Also, can we stand ANOTHER season at not starting Scoot? I honestly cannot. He needs to get moved asap.
Was the team missing other players as well? I’ll accept these stats if the roster was identical with only Ant missing. Also what was the strength of schedule? Were we playing the Celtics or the Jazz? Home or road? Not sure that is the case...
Small sample size for sure, but last year Blazers were 28-42 (0.400) with Simons. They were 8-4 (0.67) without him.
In the 23-24 season, Blazers were 11-35 (0.24) with Simons and 10-26 (0.28) without him. [negligible difference, but still technically better without Simons]
You’re gonna have to take that up with the people who said yes. Then don’t re-sign him.
I said yes. I'd be fine with him coming off the bench when he's helpful. You’re gonna have to take that up with the people who said yes.
I can't tell if you are joking or not. You don't actually put any credence in that "data". Do you?
I can't tell if you're joking or not either. Maybe we can get rid of points and numbers altogether and we can just decide which team wins based on our opinions instead of that pesky data.
Then what the hell do you make personal decisions on?I said that data, not all data. Some stats can be both interesting yet still full of holes. You don't make personnel decisions on a small sample size during two tank seasons.

Was she a model?Problem is the conductor is playing with model trains

This what? If it’s best for the team sit him. I’m not saying it is, but if it is, sit him
I understand just fine. Playing him is fine, but regardless of his salary, if he helps the team off the bench and the trade options aren’t good, sit his ass and play him whatever minutesYou don't seem to understand. You move him or you play him. He doesn't sit.
