I know Rondo's injury is pretty serious but I think he'll comeback just fine. So would you trade a multiple time all star, potential hall of famer for the favorite to be Rookie of the Year?

Re: Would your trade Lillard for Rondo?

Even if Rondo wasn't injured I'd say no. It would be tempting but I like Lillard. He already has a better outside shot and I think he will grow to put up similar assist numbers.

no.

I think Lillard fits our other players better (his shooting) and Stotts offense. Plus at this point, his cheap contract for 3 more yrs aftet this yr is a huge plus, especially given the level he is already playing/producing at. No, keep Lillrd, no brainer.

Re: Would your trade Lillard for Rondo?

It's a very easy no with the injury. Still a likely no prior.

Re: Would your trade Lillard for Rondo?

No. Rondo doesn't seem to be very well liked by his teammates

Re: Would your trade Lillard for Rondo?

Before his injury I would have been tempted, but after his ACL, no thanks.

Hell no. I don't like rooting for asshole sociopaths.

Re: Would your trade Lillard for Rondo?

Yeah, not after an injury. I really like Rondo though - terrific defense, good rebounder, excellent passer, and just a tough player in general. But I'm not interested in trading a ROY for an injured player.

Interestingly, Rondo shoots better than Lillard except from 23'+ and the 3'-9' range.

Lillard is now one of the best assets in the NBA with his great play and rookie contract for THREE MORE YEARS

Rondo shoots 24% fom 3, Lillard 36%, Rondo is a crappy outside shooter, anywhere outside of 15ft Lillard kicks his ass

No.

I really, really, really, really, hate his inability to shoot. It fucks up an offense in ways you can't begin to count.

Rondo is so good in all other areas it almost makes up for it - ALMOST.

Nope, the only thing you can do with an oddball talent like Rondo is build the team around him - and I have no interest in doing that.

He might come back "fine", but there is a pretty good chance he will never be as dominant as he was pre-surgery. And, he a something of a head-case/looker room distraction.

No thanks.

You know why that is right?

Because Rondo's defenders are standing still 6 feet away from him when he is taking a jumper, and Lillard's defender is flying at him with their hand to his face.

I'm assuming this was in response to my post.
The numbers are as follows:

Rim: Lillard - 57.8% Rondo - 62.1%
3-9': Lillard - 42.3% Rondo - 39.1%
10-15': Lillard - 31.8% Rondo - 37.5%
16-23': Lillard - 44% Rondo - 48%
23'+: Lillard - 35.8% Rondo - 24%

Uhh, you forget the charity stripe.

No, lillard is on a rookie contract and is well liked by his teammates

Rondo CAN'T shoot.....that's what makes his game that more amazing!

If I'm Rondo, I spend every free moment of rehab working on my shooting. How awesome would he be if he were even an average shooter?

Rondo's 16-23 is 48% for this yr, however his career avg is way below that, also i believe he is assisted at that range at almost twice the rate Lillard is

It's still interesting. At least, I find it interesting when players/coaches get a reputation but the numbers refute that reputation. I bought into it - I thought Rondo was a terrible shooter, but he shoots far better from LMA's "sweet spot" than LMA does. I find that quite interesting - Rondo has a reputation as a terrible shooter, LMA has a reputation as a terrific shooter, yet Rondo bests LMA by 10% from said "sweet spot".

Okay. I'm not disparaging Lillard - I was just very surprised to see that Rondo has a better FG% than Lillard anywhere away from the rim. Never would have guessed it.

HIS 16-23 AVG THE PREVIOUS 4 YRS WAS PROBABLY NEAR 38%, AND KEEP IN MIND THOSE "ASSISTED" LEVELS

Okay. I understand that. I'm not arguing here, just thought it was interesting that Rondo isn't nearly as terrible shooter as his reputation suggests.

Man, even when I try to post something that seems controversial, nobody responds...

Lillard/Hickson/Freeland for Rondo/Sullinger/Melo. Anyone else down?

With Rondo AND Melo Portland might be one of my least favorite teams. Lol
