Would you trade Lillard for Rondo?

Man, even when I try to post something that seems controversial, nobody responds...

Lillard/Hickson/Freeland for Rondo/Sullinger/Melo. Anyone else down?
I can't get Trade Machine to work at work.

As for that trade, you should be horsewhipped for even considering it.

I think he's talking about Fab Melo.

Exactly.

I just want to see if MM's head would explode if our center corps consisted of one white American, and one dude fro Syracuse.

Dunno. If it makes us bad enough to keep our pick this year, and we draft another promising guard (like CJ McCollum, or Trey Burke), and then Rondo gets healthy, we'd have a decent rebuild going.

I thought you meant Anthony, and you'd have to lobotomize and smother me a la R.P. MacMurphy if Rondo AND Anthony donned the Scarlet & Black.

I wouldn't for a second. SO far, Lillard has proven that he can stay on the court with heavy minutes (knock on wood). I'm still amazed that he isn't getting into foul trouble. I mean he is still a fucking rookie man!

Lillard is going to surprise is with a huge leap next year. He's going to be the unquestioned franchise player in year 2.

Not straight across anymore but I would if we got someone like Sullinger in addition and gave up Claver or Freeland or something along those lines.

Basically we would have to win the deal for me to consider it. No straight across swap.

I wouldn't do it, but there's zero doubt that pre-injury, Rondo is by far the better player. In 4 years, Lillard may well be better than Rondo was at the start of this season.

There's no guarantee that Rondo would be the same caliber player anywhere but Boston. He basically learned the NBA game there with Pierce and Garnett.

The win is in growing Lillard through his rookie contract to a franchise player. If he steps up his game the next two seasons, he's going to be a top 3 PG. I wouldn't bet against him.

You know whats funny is that if Rondo was a Blazers and Lillard was a Celtic and even if Lillard was the one who blew out his knee I'm sure most fans would still say NO.:biglaugh:

I almost feel like Rondo's torn ACL is karma for being such an asshole.

I wouldn't if I was a Blazer fan.

As to Rondo's shooting, hes developed a pretty damn good mid-range shot recently. I wouldn't write off his 48% from 16-23 as an aberration. That shot has been improving steadily for him for a while now and if you watch him play you'd see him hit it regularly.
