That's not true. LJ is the closest thing to Jordan. Kobe is a wannabe Jordan. Kobe has a career per of 24.5; while Jordan has a career per of 29.5. LJ has a career per very close of 27.2.

I don't think so LeBron is more like Magic just not as good. I also don't like how LBJ went to Miami to be with Wade to win a championship and now you hear rumors about LBJ going back to Cleavland now that he's won a Championship maybe two if he gets on this year. Just because of that I would never put LBJ in the same line as Jordan till he proves he can do it with his own team like Jordan and Kobe have done. Another thing is players like Kobe and Jordan live for the big moment I'm not so sure you can say the same about James. Talent wise maybe I just don't think James has the same kind of mind set as players like Jordan and Kobe and that's and that's what separates them.

Miami is his team now. Ask any fan or the coaching staff.

yes a million times out of a million. Our rebounding would be even worse, but I still would

While I assume a media whore like KB wouldn't want to play in Portland anymore then I'd like to see him in red and black, PDX's rebounding would improve after what I'd then turn around and trade him for. Wes and JJ are a small price to pay for someone who can generate so much $... the Big Markets would be lining up

The key is, he's older than fuck.

He's 34.
It's pretty aparent that there are more Kobe haters than anything on this board. We are all Blazer fans and can't stand to see any Laker have any glory. With that said, I voted no for a few reasons.

1.) Kobe is old. Remember he's been in the league since 1995. That's 18 + years man.
2.) Kobe is selfish. He would destroy any chemistry this team has.
3.) Kobe is expensive. We would need to trade Aldridge, Batum and Matthews to even be at the level of the trade. Kobe's contract is untradeable with the new CBA.

Kobe was drafted in 96

Anymore it seems like older stars, if they have anything left in the tank, usually go on to chase rings on cheap contracts with contenders. Payton, Karl Malone, Ray Allen, Garnett, Shaq....I think playing your whole career on one team has gone the way of saving yourself for marriage. Sure, it sounds noble and all, but in the end you want to score some trophies a lot more than you want to be known as That Person.

Ray Allen and KG didn't go ring chasing. They were traded. Theyhad no say in the matter.

Considering it's likely Kobe is on some kind of PED right now, I would do it.

Ya he's 34 and probably works on his game harder than anyone in the NBA even Jordan said a few years " Kobe’s ultimate competition is MJ. That’s why MJ watches him. MJ made people think what he was doing wasn’t human. Ditto the Kobester.

I never said Kobe was better than MJ. MJ just told me Kobe’s the only one to have done the work, to deserve comparison."

if Magic gets to play with Worthy/Kareem and MJ gets to play with Pippen, and Kobe gets to play with Shaq, why doesn't LeBron get to play with Wade?

The difference between Kobe and Jordan is at the end of the game, you WANT Kobe jacking up bad shots. You NEVER wanted the ball in Jordan's hands at the end of a game.

Oh one year off doesnt mean shit. 17 years in the league is still epically long. He is only 34, but hes had 38 years of wear and tear on his body. Even now, ive noticed his game is dropping significantly on the offensive end.

Pretty absurd that most of you wouldn't trade two fringe starters for a future HOF player and top 10 player in the league. Ok maybe hes only top 12-13 if you're a PER nuthugger, but even so why wouldn't you trade two run of the mill players for a top 15 player?

Yeah, he probably wouldn't be very happy playing in Portland, and there's concern with how he'd fit with Dame/LMA. But it instantly ups your franchise's profile exponentially. You add a marketing machine and superstar, a guy everyone in the league respects, and to boot you've even got a fucking money core of Damian, Kobe, Batum, and Aldridge. You could draw some vets on the cheap who are ring-chasing. FAs will want to play for Portland. The whole image of the team would change, not to mention if would be a major upgrade in talent.

Because trading for someone that doesn't want to be on your team is disruptive. Obviously the talent changing hands would be ridiculously unbalanced, and yes Kobe is the one of the best players in the history of the game, but why trade for someone that won't help your team?

Well because it wouldn't work cap wise. Kobe will be making 30 million next season. He has a no trade clause in his contract as well. But let's assume Kobe says "yeah trade me to pdx". Matthews will make 8 million and hickson possible 8-9 million. So let's just factor it's 16-17 million. Our cap space left over is 13 million; which is around 19-20 million. So we would need to add an additional 10 million just to make it work. So who do we have left that makes that amount? Or combo players? By the time it's all said and done we may only have Lillard, Kobe and Aldridge and the same shitty bench.

This doesn't scream contention to me. Sorry...

so why couldn't LBJ wait till Wade went to Cleavland?

Have you ever been to Cleveland? Can you even imagine a scenario where someone who is at the top of his industry and living in Miami would choose to move to Cleveland?
